Class 1A League Predictions Update & Playoff Projections Week 6

Every year during the preseason I give my league prediction. This year I am going to update them just one time before we enter league play. I will have my original predictions so you can compare from the preseason. I will also update the 16 teams I think make the playoffs. At the end I will have the playoff projections for if the season ended today! Good Luck to all teams.

Frontier League

No changes to the top two teams. I think only two teams from this league get into the playoffs. With Prospect Ridge possibly making a run for it if they can finish in third place.

My predictions for the Frontier League

League Champion: Forge Christian

Playoff Contenders: Forge Christian, Flatirons Academy, Prospect Ridge

League 6

I flopped the top two teams but I think the battle between them will be a good one. Platte Valley will be very dangerous now that they enter league play. Platte Valley played one of the toughest non-league schedules in Class 1A. I think only Highland and Platte Valley make the playoffs from this league. Manual I think will just be on the outside unless they can finish in second.

League Champion: Highland

Playoff Contenders: Highland & Platte Valley

North Central League

No changes for the North Central as they head into league play. The biggest question mark for the North Central is Holyoke as they played just two non-league games as they enter league play. All six teams in this league will be playoff contenders.

My predictions for the North Central League

League Champion: Wray

Playoff Contenders: Wray, Limon, Wiggins, Yuma, Holyoke, Burlington

South Central League

No changes until the bottom half of the league. Del Norte has forfeited the remaining games why they move to #6. Centauri and Monte Vista are playoff contenders. Ignacio will have a shot at making the playoffs they may need some help or an upset of the top two teams.

Tri-Peaks League

Swapped the top two teams for the tri-peaks league. C.S Christian lost a few key players from last season that transferred or did not play. I think the battle for 3^rd place will be key for a third team to get into the playoffs.

Western Slope League

The Western Slope looks to be a great battle between all 6 teams. I think 3 teams will get in from the Western Slope but I think the initial week of league and second week we will see who will be in playoff contention.

Playoff Contenders: Meeker, North Fork, Cedaredge, Grand Valley, Olathe

Class 1A Playoff Team Predictions

I am just giving the 16 teams I think make the playoffs, no particular order.

Class 1A Football Playoff Projections Week 6

This year to reach the playoffs is simple. Either win your league title or be inside the top 16 of the CHSAA Seeding Index. After they select the 16 teams that make the playoffs, they use the CHSAA Seeding Index to seed the playoffs. This week I will be giving my predictions on who makes the playoffs, but I will also look at if the season ended today who would make the playoffs at the end. Good Luck to all teams.

This is if the season ended today 10/3/2024. Using the CHSAA Seeding Index I will come up with the Playoff field. League Champions selected with my Predictions. I will seed & select the bracket with the CHSAA Seeding Index. Remember this is still very early and things will change. The league champions I selected are at the top with the at-large berths following.
