CLASS 3A VOLLEYBALL REPORT

As the final week of the regular season in Class 3A has already begun, the biggest question surrounding the postseason is “who will claim the final at large berth?”. With the City champion, DSST: Conservatory Green sitting 35th in Tuesday morning’s release of the CHSAA Selection and Seeding Index, and being guaranteed a spot in the bracket, it looks like the race for the final spot comes down to a handful of teams.

36 NORTH FORK (0.506264 NORMALIZED AVERAGE RATING)

North Fork has two shots at playoff teams this weekend in the Buena Vista tournament, as the Lady Miners are scheduled to play 2A #22 Buena Vista and 2A #27 Lake County in the event. They also have a match with one of the bottom 11 teams in 2A, South Park. Outside of the tourney, North Fork concludes Western Slope play on Tuesday at #41 Roaring Fork.

37 WOODLAND PARK (0.505449 NORMALIZED AVERAGE RATING)

Woodland Park opens the Cheyenne Mountain tournament on Friday against 5A #11 Cherry Creek. There are two 16-team brackets in the two-day event, which is loaded with top teams from 3A through 5A.

38 KIPP DENVER COLLEGIATE (0.505039 NORMALIZED AVERAGE RATING)

A week ago, the Lady White Tigers looked to be comfortably in the bottom third of the regional bracket, but like the Colorado weather, the Seeding Index can change drastically in a short period of time. KIPP Denver Collegiate plays DSST: CG for 7th place in the DPS tournament’s Gold Bracket on Tuesday night. That’s the end of the regular season slate for the Lady White Tigers, meaning they will have close to a full week of nervous waiting.

39 EAGLE RIDGE ACADEMY (0.499345 NORMALIZED AVERAGE RATING)

The end of the regular season will have Eagle Ridge Academy finishing in the Strasburg tournament on Saturday. The first match of the event for the Lady Warriors is against 2A #3 Lyons. The field also includes three top-25 programs from 3A.

40 COAL RIDGE (0.482411 NORMALIZED AVERAGE RATING)

Coal Ridge wraps up the regular season by hosting its own tournament. The field includes #28 Pagosa Springs, 4A #16 Glenwood Springs, and 4A #34 Delta.
