Class 1A Football Playoff Projections Week 10

This year to reach the playoffs is simple. Either win your league title or be inside the top 16 of the CHSAA Seeding Index. After they select the 16 teams that make the playoffs, they use the CHSAA Seeding Index to seed the playoffs. This week I will be giving my predictions on who makes the playoffs, but I will also look at if the season ended today who would make the playoffs at the end. Good Luck to all teams.

Class 1A Playoff Predictions (Who I think make the playoffs)

This is who I think make the playoffs and who win the leagues. In Class 1A all-league champions are guaranteed a berth. The rest will be selected by CHSAA Seeding Index. Seeding is determined by CHSAA Seeding Index. I am picking my 9 At-Large teams via non-league schedules, remaining schedules, and how I think teams will do. Expect changes week to week especially making these projections/predictions so early. League Champions are posted first then the At-Large Teams.

Playoff Hunt for Final Spots

Platte Valley, Prospect Ridge

Compared to Class 2A, Class 1A is nearly figured out. I put Prospect Ridge as a team in the Hunt because they play Flatirons Academy and with an upset could fly up the Seeding Index but a loss eliminates them. The real battle for a playoff spot is Platte Valley, Peyton, North Fork, and Monte Vista. I do think Peyton is a lock as long as they avoid a loss to Ellicott they will get into the playoffs. Monte Vista faces Centauri and with a loss I think still get in. Their win over North Fork playing a huge part in that. Also, Monte Vista is .057 ahead of North Fork and Platte Valley. Still, I cannot lock Monte Vista in but playing Centauri will not only help with OWP but also their OOWP. The teams who really are battling it out for the final spot is Platte Valley and North Fork. North Fork must win their final game against Roaring Fork and then will also hope Platte Valley does not beat Highland, if Platte Valley beats Highland they are league champions and would move into the 16 spots if not higher. If Platte Valley loses to Highland, I don’t think Platte Valley can get it but it will be very close between them and North Fork for the final spot. I will talk about this more in my 1A weekly article tomorrow.

This is if the season ended today 10/30/2024. Using the CHSAA Seeding Index I will come up with the Playoff field. League Champions selected with my Predictions. I will seed & select the bracket with the CHSAA Seeding Index. Remember this is still very early and things will change. The league champions I selected are at the top with the at-large berths following.
