Region 1

#1 Merino over #24 De Beque

Merino has been a powerhouse for Volleyball, and they will look to continue that this season.  They have just one loss to 3A Sterling. De Beque will look to shock the world and will have to play their best volleyball match of the season

Region 2

#2 Idalia over #23 Mile High Academy

Idalia played a tough schedule to prepare for regionals.  They are one of the top teams and will look to push to state.  Mile High Academy won the 5280-league playing good volleyball to end the season.  They will face their toughest opponent to date when they square off against Idalia on Thursday.

Region 3

#3 Fleming over #22 Lone Star

A quick drive for Lone Star as a few of their boys play Football at Fleming.  Lone Star will look to shock Fleming this season and will have to have a solid match.  Fleming will look to return to state after missing last season.

Region 4

#4 Otis over #21 South Baca

South Baca won their league and will look to ride a wave of solid volleyball into regionals.  Otis has played and defeated some of the top teams in Class 1A this season.  They will have to continue playing at a top level to advance.

Region 5

#5 McClave over #20 Prairie

This matchup could be one to keep an eye on as Prairie has challenged a few of the top teams this season.  McClave is on a nice winning streak since falling 3-1 to Stratton including big wins over Del Norte & Hi-Plains.

Region 6

#6 Stratton over #19 Cheyenne Wells

To begin the season Cheyenne Wells was ranked as a top 10 team.  They have the potential to threaten Stratton in this game.  Stratton did not end the season the way they would like after dropping their final game to Briggsdale.

Region 7

#7 Dove Creek over #18 Primero

Dove Creek ended the season on a high note defeating 2A Ignacio and 2A Sanford.  Both games were tight contest, but I think what was needed to help the Bulldogs get ready.  Primero is having their best season in a long time and will look to keep that going.

Region 8

#17 Weldon Valley over #8 Flatirons Academy

These two schools played each other on 10/18 with Flatirons Academy winning 3 to 0.  Flatirons Academy is playing excellent volleyball with their last dropped set coming on 10/8 against 2A Front Range Christian.  Weldon Valley is also playing much better Volleyball ending their season defeating 2A Haxtun, 4A Fort Morgan, and Lone Star.

Region 9

#9 Hi-Plains over Evangelical Christian

Hi-Plains enters regionals playing their best Volleyball and riding a 5-game winning streak into regionals.  They defeated Genoa-Hugo and Stratton during that winning streak.  ECA also ended the season on a 9-game winning streak with their best win over Fountain Valley.

Region 10

#10 Sargent over #15 La Veta

Sargent made the move down to Class 1A this season and have yet to lose to a 1A team.  Sargent ended the season winning 4 of their last 5 with quality wins over Ignacio and Limon.  La Veta is a team who is always at regionals and the state tournament.  They ended the season playing solid Volleyball as well, winning 4 of their last 6 games and the losses were quality losses to Sanford and Rye.

Region 11

#14 Genoa-Hugo over #11 Cheraw

Cheraw last year was a state tournament team knocking off a traditional power to get to the state tournament.  Cheraw did not end the season the way they would like, going 2-2 in their last four games and going 5 sets with Arickaree to end the year.  Genoa-Hugo ended the year on a four-game winning streak including key sweeps over Aricakree and Granada.

Region 12

#12 Briggsdale over #13 Eads

Briggsdale is playing some of the best volleyball in Class 1A and ended the season with a sweep of Stratton.  They will look to continue that into regionals.  Eads ended the year falling in 3 straight granted they are all top 6 seeds at regionals, and they took Stratton 5 and Otis 4.  This will be a great matchup.
