Class 2A Regional Volleyball Predictions
Here are my Predictions on who is going to win the 12 regionals taking place this weekend. I will give a quick breakdown of why I am picking each team to win. Full Preview of the Class 2A Regional will be posted tomorrow.

Region 1
Winner: Simla
Simla got a decent draw as the #1 team, but they do have a state tournament team from last season in their region in Ignacio. Simla has been the best team in Class 1A, but look for Ignacio to challenge them
Region 2
Winner: Sedgwick County
Sedgwick County also drew a state tournament team from last season in Mancos. Sedgwick County I believe is fully healthy heading into the state tournament and look for them to push for the state tournament.
Region 3
Winner: Lyons
Lyons somewhat flew under the radar as they were not ranked in the MHPR Volleyball pool till the end of the season. They are playing solid Volleyball. Lyons drew Buena Vista and Front Range Christian both will challenge Lyons.
Region 4
Winner: Swink
Swink made the state tournament last season as a surprise and this season it’s expected. Swink won their league but like the other three regions they drew Burlington who made the state tournament a year ago.
Region 5
Winner: C.S Christian
C.S Christian dropped into Class 2A this season and they have played well. C.S Christian played a 3A schedule and were the 2nd place team in the tough tri-peaks league. C.S Christian drew Fowler who is a traditional power and Lake County who is a regular at regionals.
Region 6
Winner: Wiggins
Wiggins is a traditional playoff team and honestly got one of the better draws for regionals. They did not draw a state tournament team from last season, but still drew a tough Dayspring Christian team and Ascent Classical who make their first trip to regionals.
Region 7
Winner: Rye
Rye is looking for a trip to the state tournament and will have their hands full at regionals. Rye drew West Grand who is a top team from the Western Slope League and Holyoke who has played tough to end the season. Rye, I think, is playing some of their best Volleyball.
Region 8
Winner: Del Norte
Del Norte got a very favorable draw avoiding any previous state tournament teams. Del Norte did draw Caprock Academy, but Caprock Academy did not end the season like they would like. Fountain Valley also is a team to watch as they always have a good record.
Region 9
Winner: Meeker
Meeker is a traditional state tournament team. They have a tough draw as they get Sanford and Limon. This will be a good regional with teams who ended the season on high notes and will challenge Meeker for a trip to the state tournament.
Region 10
Winner: Rangely
Rangely did not have any favors done for it when the regionals were drawn. Rangely drew Hoehne, who is a state tournament team from last season and Gilpin County who at times looked like a team that could upset anyone. I still think Rangely advances, but this will be a fantastic region.
Region 11
Winner: Vail Christian
My first upset pick at regionals. Vail Christian looks to show the Western Slope was not joke this season. Vail Christian upset Meeker earlier in the year and will look to get back to that style of play. Heritage Christian has just two losses on the season to Lyons and Flatirons Academy. Calhan also is a team to watch as they were a state tournament team last season. They are also just as much in the mix as Vail Christian and Heritage Christian to advance to state this season.
Region 12
Winner: Haxtun
Haxtun dropped from hosting to traveling after falling in 3 of their last 4 games. Granted Haxtun lost to only regional teams but not the end of the season Haxtun wanted. Denver Christian is the regional host, and they will be looking to advance to the state tournament. They played a 3A schedule and will be ready for Haxtun to challenge them.
