Class 2A Volleyball State Tournament Predictions

We have reached the end of the Volleyball season, and the final 12 teams will compete for the State Title. I will post predictions today for the first round and second round of the winner bracket. I will also post my entire bracket predicted all the way to the State Championship. We will have full breakdowns of Class 1A, 2A, and 3A posted later today.

State Tournament Predictions

First Round Winner Bracket-Thursday

M2: #9 Haxtun over #8 Del Norte @8am

Del Norte made quick work of their opponents at regionals winning both sets over Fountain Valley 3 to 0 and Caprock Academy 3 to 0. Del Norte has become almost a regular at the state tournament. Haxtun hit the road for regionals and walked away with a five set thriller over Denver Christian. Haxtun has been challenge more than Del Norte and I think make the difference.

M3: #5 C.S Christian over #12 Sanford @9:30am

C.S Christian was dominate in game one against Lake County winning 3 to 0 but then dropped a set against Fowler but won 3 to 1. C.S Christian has state tournament experience. Sanford hit the road for their regional and pulled the upset over Meeker 3 to 2. This was one of the better matches of the year.

M6: #6 Wiggins over #11 Hoehne @11am

Wiggins was dominate at regionals winning both matches 3 to 0 over Ascent Classical and Dayspring Christian. Wiggins gave up less than 18 points in any of their sets and look to make a deep run again at the State Tournament. Hoehne hit the road for their regional. Hoehne took five sets to defeat Gilpin County and then moved to state defeating Rangely 3 to 0. Hoehne is no stranger to state volleyball.

M5: #7 Rye over #10 Vail Christian @12:30pm

Rye played well at regionals dropping just one set to Holyoke 3 to 1 and sweeping West Grand 3 to 0. Rye will face another western slope team in the first round. Vail Christian hit the road for their regional and came away with a berth. Vail Christian defeated Calhan 3 to 1 and then swept Heritage Christian 3 to 0.

M18: #5 C.S Christian over #4 Swink @3:30pm

M19: #6 Wiggins over #3 Lyons @5pm

M20: #2 Sedgwick County over #7 Rye @6:30pm
