Congratulations to the Class 2A State Champions The Classical Academy

The Classical Academy is your Class 2A State Champions.  TCA defeated Wellington 42 to 36.  This was a great game! TCA had the largest lead of the game of 14 points in the 2nd Quarter (21-7) and it would only get more exciting as the game progressed.  Wellington had a pick six to kick open the 2nd half and would fail on the two-point conversion.  TCA would answer on the next drive to go up 28 to 20 and that is how the third quarter would end.  Wellington tied things up right away in the fourth at 28 apiece.  TCA would retake the lead at 7:37 left in the fourth 35 to 28.  Wellington would then answer at 4:35 remaining and convert the two-point conversion to lead 36 to 35.  TCA would then march down the field and score with 30 second left and win 42 to 36.  This was a great game, granted it has some controversy but both teams left everything on the field, and this turned out to be the best game of the weekend.

  1. Hoping for support from the Milehigh Report folks to change the championship state football games to a review style for questionable ref calls. Wellington won the state championship game. We all know it, 9 News called it out, and the video continues to be played again and again all over social media. We all saw the fumble. The Jumbotron even continued to replay the fumble multiple times for everyone in the stadium to see. What is the sense of having a Jumbotron for replay, and not being used for review? Why are we videotaping the game then? Seven refs on the field and only one is allowed to make the call? Shouldn’t these refs be the best of the best for the championship game? We are all supporting the change so no other team will ever feel this heartbreak loss again.
