Class 2A Wrestling Update by Carlos Valencia
Well wrestling fans the season is upon us. It sneaked up on me really quick. As you all know I am still coaching for Center high school, so I will be able to see a lot of 2a action. I would like to welcome Tyler Buhr to the Mile High preps team. He will be covering 3a wrestling.
The season starts off on 12/5 with duals and triangulars. Some duals will feature a match night between Center, Del Norte, Antonito, and Sargent held by Del Norte. Also Walsenburg match night with La veta, Las Animas, Manzanola, Primero, Sierra Grande. A couple of duals featuring Yuma against Wray (Wray wont have all starters because of just finishing the football season). Also North fork against Montrose, Monte Vista against Lamar, On 12/6 a triangular between Sedgwick County,Dayspring Christian, and Akron.
On 12/7 a couple tournaments that will have a good amount of teams in attendance. Grizzly Invitational held in Fowler, Buena Vista duals, and The Maverick duals with Cederage, Meeker, Olathe, North fork, Hayden, and Rangly.
Well some rule changes the went into effect this season:
3 point takedown
2 point for two count, 3 point for three count, 4 point for four count.
