
Class 3A Girls Basketball Weekly Report

As we hit the midpoint of the basketball season, most teams are early on in league play, or have yet to have league matchup but are building momentum to roll through the exhilarating side of the season. This week we look at the top 16 teams in 3A according to the MileHigh Prep Report rankings and examine the wins and losses of this last week as well as the upcoming matchups for each of the teams.

Resurrection Christian
Resurrection Christian leads the way in 3A at the top of the rankings with a current 10-0 overall record. The Cougars have played one league game where they beat Frontier Academy 91-25. Their other games so far this January have been wins against Fort Lupton (84-26), Berthoud (57-40), and Lutheran (41-38). Resurrection Christian will be looking to continue their success and add to their 579 points this season when they face the 1-9 Wray Eagles on 1/17, and the 6-4 Wiggins Tigers on 1/21.
Centauri
Centauri currently find themselves 2nd in the rankings with a 8-2 record. The Flacons are in a small struggle to begin 2025, losing both of their games so far in January after winning 8 games in a row to start the season. These two losses for Centauri were against Delta (55-44) and Montrose (44-39). The team will be looking to regain some traction as they start league play this week which will present Montezuma-Cortez who is 3-5 on the season on 1/17 and Bayfield who is 4-4 on 1/18.
Colorado Springs Christian
The Lions are currently 5-2 on the season, with their two losses coming from Lutheran (42-48) and Centauri (37-40) to start the season. CSC is on a five game win streak since their early losses with a 2-0 league record for the team to start January. These League wins came against La Junta ( 76-26) and James Irwin ( 78-17). The Lions will be looking to add to their winning streak this week and will be facing 3-5 Buena Vista on the road on 1/16 and will be hosting 3-5 Florence on 1/18.
Denver Christian
Denver Christian sits at number 4 in the rankings with a current 10-1 record. The Thunder lost their last game in 2024 against CSCHS (45-52), but have come back in 2025 and are currently on a three game win streak having beat Platte Canyon (64-11), Elbert (59-25) and Byers (61-38). The Thunder will be looking to keep their January streak going and start league play this week as they will travel to Limon to face the 2-4 Badgers on 1/18, then will go to the 2-5 St. Mary’s Academy Wildcats on 1/21, and then will host the 4-9 Kent Denver Sun Devils on 1/23.
Yuma
Sitting at number 5 in the rankings, Yuma has a 6-3 record so far this season. The Outlaws started 2025 with a win over Liberty Common (58-16) and Akron (39-36), but fell to Simla in their most recent game (48-41). Yuma will be taking on the 8-2 Brush Beetdiggers on 1/17, the 5-4 Eaton Reds on 1/18, and the 8-2 Platte Valley Broncos on 1/21.
Roaring Fork
The Roaring Fork Rams are currently 10-0 on the season, 2-0 in league play, and are 2nd in the Western Slope League. The Rams are starting strong in January with three wins, two of these games being against League opponents. These wins were over Basalt (76-16), league opponent North Fork (68-34) and league opponent Grand Valley (54-31). On the hunt to continue their success, Roaring Fork will be playing against Cedaredge, who is 9-0 on the season on 1/17, Olathe, who is 3-5, on 1/18, and Aspen, who is 0-5 on 1/21.
St. Mary’s
St. Mary’s is currently sitting with a 4-3 overall record, a 1-0 league record and are 3rd in the Tri-Peaks league right now. The Pirates are 2-0 to start January, with wins over Manitou Springs (58-19) and St. Mary’s Academy (59-51). Th team will be looking to add wins to their record and continue their league success as they will face 4-4 Rye on 1/16, 4-5 La Junta on 1/18, and 2-5 Banning Lewis Academy on 1/22.
Salida
Ranked number 8 in 3A, Salida has a 6-2 overall record, a 1-1 league record and are currently ranked 7th in the Tri-Peaks league. Salida is currently on a 4 game win streak, two of which games were in 2025. These wins for the Spartans came against Pagosa Springs (41-36) and Gunnison (50-43). Salida will be looking to continue their win streak this week as they take on 0-9 Woodland Park on the road on 1/16 and then will be back home on 1/22 to host James Irwin who is currently 2-2 on the season.
Cedaredge
The Bruins are starting off with a strong season with a 9-0 overall record, a 4-0 league record and are currently 1st in the West Slope League. Cedaredge got wins over Gunnison (47-25), Meeker (42-30), and Olathe (40-12) since the start of the year, and will be looking to keep their perfect record alive this week. The opponents that the Bruins will face this week is Roaring Fork on the road on 1/17 who is 10-0, and North Fork at home on 1/21 who is 6-4.
Strasburg
The Indians are currently the last team in the top 10 of the 3A rankings with a 7-2 overall records, 2-0 league record and are sitting in 1st in the Patriot League. Strasburgs’ losses came in the first two games of the season, meaning that the team has won their 4 games played in January. These games were agaisnt St. Mary’s Academy, Wray, Wiggins and Woodland Park, where Strasburg got the wins 60-34, 71-31, 48-35, and 67-11. The Indians will be looking to build on their 7 game win streak this week as they will be facing 1-9 Platte Canyon on 1/18, and 7-3 Windsor Charter Academy on 1/21.
Wiggins
Wiggins sits just outside of the top 10 of the 3A rankings with a 6-4 overall record, a 1-1 league record and are 6th in the Patriot league. Wiggins is playing a tough schedule to start 2025, and have won only a single game out of four played so far in January. The win that was added to the Tigers’ record was against Haxtun, 52-29, but the losses were against Byers 37-42, Merino 19-48, and Strasburg 35-48. Wiggins will be looking to get some traction this week and add wins to their record as they will face Windsor Charter Academy (7-3) on 1/17, Akron (5-4) on 1/18 and Resurrection Christian (10-0) on 1/21.
Platte Valley
The Broncos are 2-1 so far in January, having lost to Eaton 36-58, but getting wins over Bennett (49-43) and Wellington (47-61). Platte Valley is currently 8-2 overall and will be looking to expand current 2 game win streak this week and will be playing Highland (5-5) on the road on 1/17, Yuma (6-3) on the road on 1/21, and then will host Frontier Academy (3-9) on 1/23.
Brush
Brush currently sits at 13 in the rankings with an 8-2 overall record, a 1-0 league record and are 5th in the Patriot League. The Beatdiggers are 2-1 so far in 2025, with wins over Valley 37-30, and Frontier Academy 52-32 and a loss to Merino 68-27. Brush will be chasing more wins this week as the team gets into league play. These games will be against the 6-3 Yuma Outlaws on 1/17 and then the 1-9 Wray Eagles, both on the road.
Ellicott
The Thunderhawks make the list with a 7-1 overall record, a 1-0 league record and are 5th in the Tri-Peaks League. The team is on a current 6 game win streak with two of these games occurring in January. These wins have been against The Vanguard School in a close battle of 55-54 and Las Animas in another good game of 56-49. Ellicott will be looking to continue their success this week as they take on 4-4 Liberty Tree Academy on the road on 1/16, 4-4 league opponent Rye at home on 1/18 and 6-2 league opponent Lamar at home on 1/21.
Addenbrooke Classical
Addenbrooke hits the ranking in the number 15 spot this week with a 9-1 overall record, a 2-0 league record and the team is currently 1st in the Foothills League. The Mustangs have won both of their games so far in January, getting wins over Loveland Classical 44-21 and AWCPA 71-18. The team will be looking to add to their 9 game win streak this week and will be playing Rocky Mountain Lutheran (2-6) at home on 1/17, Thomas MacLaren School (8-2) on 1/21 on the road and Regis Groff (3-6) on 1/23 at home.
Windsor Charter
With a 7-3 overall record, a 0-1 league record and sitting 8th in the Patriot league, Windsor Charter hits 16 in the rankings. The Firebirds are 1-1 for the month of January with a win over Prospect Ridge 57-26 and a loss to Wray 22-45. The team will be striving to add more wins and move up in the rankings this week as they will face the 6-4 Wiggins Tigers on 1/17 at home, Strasburg who is 6-4 on the road on 1/21, and 5-5 Loveland Classical at home on 1/23.
