Class 3A Boys Mid-Way League Predictions

We have one month left of regular season play and we wanted to update our League Predictions plus update our regional contenders.   We will have the 32 teams we think make the playoffs plus We will also list the 3 to 6 players we think are in the hunt for the MHPR Player of the League as well.  Remember this is all for fun and we are not cheering against any team.

The 4A/3A/2A Frontier League will automatically get a berth to regionals since they have over 5 teams.  Only the team that finishes in First Place in the league regardless of Class will get the automatic berth.  Fort Lupton remains my pick to win the Frontier League they are a 4A team and would get the auto berth.  3A teams that are in contention for regionals are Middle Park and Arrupe Jesuit.  Platte Canyon could get in the mix but need a good end to the season.  3A teams out of contention are Lake County, Platte Canyon, and Jefferson.

My predictions for 4A/3A Frontier

League Champion: Fort Lupton

Regional Contenders: Fort Lupton, Middle Park (3A), Bennett, Arrupe Jesuit (3A), Pinnacle

Out of Regional Contention: Englewood, Lake County, Platte Canyon, Arvada, Sheridan, Alameda, Jefferson

The 4A/3A Tri-Peaks will automatically get a berth to regionals since they have over 5 teams.  Only the team that finishes in First Place in the league regardless of Class will get the automatic berth.  Lamar is my new pick to win the 4A/3A Tri-Peaks League.  Lamar is a 4A team and would get the automatic berth.  The Tri-Peaks league has 10 teams across both 3A & 4A who are regional contenders out of 14 teams.  The 3A teams that are regional contenders are: Vanguard, Banning Lewis, C.S Christina, Buena Vista, Salida, St. Mary’s, and Florence.

The 4A/3A Metro will automatically get a berth to regionals since they have over 5 teams.  Only the team that finishes in First Place in the league regardless of Class will get the automatic berth.  Forge Christian and Denver Christian are the only 3A schools left in the Metro League.  Kent Denver remains my pick to win the Metro League.  Forge Christian and Denver Christian are both regional contenders in Class 3A and both should make it to regionals.  Every team in the Metro League regardless of class is in regional contention.

3A Western Slope

The 3A Western Slope will automatically get a berth to regionals since they have over 5 teams.  Only the team that finishes in First Place in the league regardless of Class will get the automatic berth.  Roaring Fork is my pick to win the Western Slope league.  Roaring Fork, Gunnison, and North Fork are the regional contenders in the league but currently just Roaring Fork is in the top 32.  Meeker and Olathe are currently not in regional contention but could change with one upset.

The 3A Patriot will automatically get a berth to regionals since they have over 5 teams.  Only the team that finishes in First Place in the league regardless of Class will get the automatic berth.  Resurrection Christian is my new pick to win the Patriot League.  All 11 teams in the Patriot League are regional contenders and if the season ended right now all 11 teams would get into regionals.  Platte Valley and Brush are the closest to the bubble teams at #29 & #30.

The Class 3A Black Forest will not get an automatic berth into regional unless they do combine with the Class 2A Black Forest.  If not the only way a team from the 3A Black Forest can qualify for regionals is being inside the top 32 of the CHSAA Seeding Index.  Peyton is my pick to win the Class 3A Black Forest.  Peyton is currently the only team inside the top 32 with Fountain Valley and Thomas MacLaren as regional contenders.
