Boys Basketball Class 1A Regional Projections Week 8
For my projections I am using the CHSAA Seeding and Selection Index. I am going to be predicting the League Champions. Remember to qualify for Regionals you must be ranked inside the top 32 or win your League (If you have 5 or more teams). At the end I pick the 8 teams I think make it to state based on my projections.

Class 1A
- League Champions earn an automatic berth in the playoffs as long as they win their league outright. Each league must have a minimum of 5 teams in it for an automatic berth.
- Seeding Criteria for the 32-team state bracket-CHSAA Seeding & Selection Index published after the regular season. Seeds 9-16 are true seeded except to try and avoid league matchups in the First Round Only. Teams may be moved one spot up or down. Seeds 17-32 may be moved up to two spots based upon geography & League matchups.
- First Two Rounds of the state tournament (Regionals) will be hosted by the top seed in that quadrant of the bracket, over two days. (4-teams total).
- Top 8 teams will advance through the bracket. The bracket Will Not be reseeded before State. Class 1A Great 8 will play a full consolation bracket.
League Champion Predictions
3A/2A/1A San Juan League: 2A Team (Dove Creek)
Dove Creek has a big head-to-head over Nucla and Ridgway. They will play both again.
3A/2A/1A Mile High League: 2A Team (Machebeuf)
Bishop Machebeuf, Heritage Christian, and SkyView Academy are the main threat for league title. Flatirons Academy is three games back.
2A/1A Western Slope League: 2A Team Wins (Plateau Valley)
De Beque is just 1 game back of Plateau Valley.
2A/1A West Central: Cotopaxi (Will not get an automatic berth)
They will be challenged by Custer County for league title.
2A/1A Union Pacific League: 2A Team Wins (Byers)
Byers is still my pick for the league title but Stratton and Limon are also in the mix both don’t have a loss yet.
1A YWKC League: Otis
Otis is tied with Arickaree for the league lead. When they face each other it will be for the league title.
1A Southern Peaks: Sierra Grande
Sierra Grande is tied with Sangre De Cristo for the league title. They play each other in 6 days.
1A North Central: Peetz
Peetz has the best record in the North Central plus a key win over Prairie.
2A/1A Lower Platte: 2A Team Wins (Sedgwick County)
Caliche is the lone 1A team and they are not in the mix for the league title.
1A High Plains: McClave
McClave is tied with Cheyenne Wells for the league lead. They don’t face each other till 2/21.
1A Fisher Peaks: Primero (Will not get an automatic berth)
Primero is in control already for the league title.
1A Black Forrest: Elbert
Elbert picked up a key head-to-head win over ECA. Elbert still must face Pikes Peak Christian and that will be for the league title.
1A Ark Valley: Kim/Branson
I am going with Kim/Branson as my league title pick. Kim/Branson is tied with Holly for the league lead.
5280 League: Denver Waldorf
They are still in a three-way tie for first place with Denver Jewish Day and Front Range Baptist.
First Four Out
Idalia (33), Ouray (34), Centennial (35), Lone Star (36)
Bracket- League matchups will be avoided in the first round only. 8 Regional winners qualifying for state. State will not be re-seeded! And play a consolation bracket!
