Class 2A Boys Basketball Regional Predictions
Regionals are here and it’s win or go home time. Reaching Regionals is one of many steps for teams looking to reach the State Championship. To reach the state tournament is simple. Win your Region and you will go to the State Tournament. 8 regions and 8 teams advance to the State Tournament. Remember this is just my opinion and we are not cheering against any team. We know all the hard work that each team has put in to reach this point. Good Luck to all 32 teams!
Region 1 at Simla
#1 Simla over #32 Burlington
#16 Dove Creek over #17 Vail Mountain
I think the #16 vs #17 game will be a good one. Two teams looking to take their shot at the #1 team in the state and both with different play styles. I don’t see Simla being upset in their first game.

Simla is my pick to advance to the state tournament. Simla has state tournament experience and know what it takes to succeed in class 2A. Dove Creek played well in their first year in Class 2A and will gain valuable experience.
Region 2 at Sanford
#8 Sanford over #25 Two Roads Charter
#9 Heritage Christian over #24 Ridgway
I think both high seeds will advance. Sanford will face a new school in Two Roads Charter which is a new school. Heritage Christian I believe has the tougher of the two matchups. Ridgway is playing their best basketball and ended the year winning their league.
#8 Sanford over #9 Heritage Christian
If these two teams were in different Regionals I would be picking them but since they square off I have to pick one. Sanford is my pick they have home court advantage and playing in Sanford is a tough environment. Both teams have had success as of late and look for this game to come down to defense!
Region 3 at Plateau Valley
#5 Plateau Valley over #28 Union Colony Prep
#12 Fowler over #21 Crested Butte
Fowler vs Crested Butte is a very interesting matchup. Crested Butte has the top end talent to contend with Fowler, but I think Fowler is well coached and they are used to winning in the playoffs. Plateau Valley I think advances to the regional finals.

Oh boy! Do we have a good one here. Fowler vs Plateau Valley round #2 in the Regional Finals! Last year Fowler pulled the upset on the road and once again they are looking to do it again. I have this game circled yet again as I could see either team advance.
Region 4 at Byers
#4 Byers over #29 Center
#13 Akron over #20 Twin Peaks Classical
Both higher seeds will be favored to win the opening round. Center has improved this season but hitting the road to Byers will be tough. Twin Peaks Classical also is new to regionals and will be tough to pull the upset.
#4 Byers over #13 Akron
Byers and Akron faced off against each other on 2/28 with Byers winning 58 to 44. Byers ended the year strong defeating Heritage, Akron, and Haxtun. If Byers can continue playing strong look for them to advance. Akron will make it much closer this time around.
Region 5 at Crowley County
#2 Crowley County over #31 Dayspring Christian
#15 Holyoke over #18 Custer County
Holyoke vs Custer County could be one of the top matchups on the Opening Round. Both teams will be looking at taking their shot at the #2 team.
#2 Crowley County over #15 Holyoke
Crowley County looks to make another deep run this season. Holyoke will provide a test but will have to play their best game of the season. Crowley County I believe advances.
Region 6 at Golden View Classical
#7 Golden View Classical over #26 Belleview Christian
#10 Haxtun over #23 Del Norte
Haxtun will be tested by Del Norte. Del Norte is playing their best basketball of the season and look for them to try and pick up a huge upset. Belleview Christian is also playing good basketball as of late.
#10 Haxtun over #7 Golden View Classical
Haxtun is used to winning and they will be looking to hit the road and pick up a big upset. Golden View Classical is playing good basketball and Golden View vs Haxtun could be the second best matchup of the Regional Finals.
Region 7 at Loveland Classical
#6 Loveland Classical over #27 Merino
#11 Sedgwick County over #22 Hoehne
I believe both lower seeds could challenge the top seeds in the opening round. Merino is playing their best basketball with a young team and Hoehne has proven they can play with the best teams but will have to find that form again.
#11 Sedgwick County over #6 Loveland Classical
Another great regional final upcoming! I could see either team advance but I believe the tougher schedule that Sedgwick County has played will make a huge difference.
Region 8 at Bishop Machebeuf
#3 Bishop Machebeuf over #30 Vail Christian
#14 Limon over #19 Swallows Charter
The #14 vs #19 matchup will be a great game. Limon has improved as the season has gone and are playing their best basketball. Swallows Charter is having their best season. This should be a great matchup.

Drawing Limon is a tough draw for Bishop Machebeuf. Limon is used to winning and are very well coached. I do think Machebeuf has the experience to advance but look for this game to be a challenge for Bishop Machebeuf
