Class 3A Boys State Tournament Predictions
We are a few days from the State Tournament kicking off. We will have predictions out Today, Tomorrow and Wednesday. I will give my predictions for all 4 Classes boys and girls. Wednesday we will preview Class 1A thru 3A Boys & Girls. If you would like to share your predictions, I would love to see everyone’s thoughts. Also, remember we are not cheering against any team, this is something we have done since we started the website, and we are wrong all the time!
Class 3A Boys State Tournament Predictions
Elite 8 Predictions
#1 Resurrection Christian over #8 Forge Christian 3rd Best Match up of the Elite 8
This is not a typical #1 vs #8 matchup as both teams are talented teams and highly tested this year. This should be a great game and could be one of the best of the opening round.
#4 Yuma over #5 Centauri 2nd Best Matchup of the Elite 8
Rematch of last year’s Elite 8 game. Not to lie picking against Yuma is like picking against Sanford in Class 2A. If Centauri gets back to playing like they did when they beat Montrose they will grab the win over the defending state champions.
#2 Windsor Charter over #7 SkyView Academy
SkyView Academy is one of the bigger surprises of the year. Windsor Charter played extremely well this year, and they are looking to make another deep run this year.
#3 Strasburg over #6 Highland Best Matchup of the Elite 8
In my opinion this is the best matchup of the opening round. Two traditional powers squaring off and two teams who have a huge rivalry. This will be a game on my list to watch on Thursday.
Final Four Predictions
#1 Resurrection Christian over #4 Yuma
#3 Strasburg over #2 Windsor Charter
Championship Saturday
#1 Resurrection Christian over #3 Strasburg (State Championship)
#2 Windsor Charter over #4 Yuma (3rd Place Game)
I think we are in for some AMAZING games In the Class 3A. I think the 8 teams who reached the state tournament all have a different scenario on how they can hoist the State Championship. I am very excited to see how everything boils down and I could easily see myself being way wrong, but I am excited for 3 great days of basketball. Resurrection vs Forge
Forge played out of their minds, and Reusrrection looks like a 5A monster. No question Resurrection is playing Saturday, and very likely going home champs.
Centauri vs Yuma
I pick Yuma, but I think will be a great game. Best of the first round. Centauri has not had any close games, but the teams this week are completely different monsters, and will be ready. I also think Yuma knows how to win in close games, and that is only learned from playing in them. Of note, I do think anytime you pick against a team like Yuma, or Sanford like you mentioned, (I think you will get burned picking against Sanford on your other prediction, but who knows! GO PLATAU VALLEY!!! ) you are likely going to get burned. These schools are terrifying to play anytime in March.
Strasburg vs Highland
Man this game should have been closer in the earlier two matchups. I love the game Strasburg plays, and think that the speed they have, has really hurt Highland. I also think this time Highland finds a way to slow the game down a little, shoots better and gets the inside game going. I am picking Highland here as my upset in the first round. Beating a team twice is hard, but beating them three times is even harder. I think the talent level on both of these teams is similar, but Strasburg continues to get the game going in the flow they prefer. I also Glatfelter is hard to handle at center, based on the fact he is so much more mobile than most posts.
Windsor Charter vs Skyview
I have to go Windsor Charter here. I think Skyview has had a great season, but having to play Resurrection twice will put 2 on the loss column for almost any team. Windsor is extremely fast, deadly at shooting, and just a great team overall. Cronk plays much taller than he really is inside, and is extremely scrappy and hard to handle, making Windsor Charter so dynamic. I think Windsor Charter is clearly the 2nd best team in 3A, but I just don tknow if they can compete with Resurrection. I predict they see eachother on Saturday, and the game is much closer than the last matchup. If anyone is going to beat the Cougars, I feel like it would be Windsor Charter.
Big 2A fan here from Platau Valley, so definatly not an expert. Just giving my thoughts from a fans perspective who has watched alot of these games all year. Goodluck to all teams! and once again, GO COWBOYS!
