Class 1A Baseball Regional Projections (5/1/2025)

Class 1A Baseball Regionals are done a bit different than the rest of the Classes. Class 1A still plays a district tournament with the district winner all qualifying for State. The district winners are seeded 1-5 with the top 4 district winner hosting regionals. If your district has more than 5 teams than they automatically qualify 2 teams. This season District 1, 2, 4, and 5 all automatically qualify 2 teams. The remaining 7 teams will be picked off the CHSAA Seeding and Selection Index.

District Champions Predictions

District 1 Champion Prediction: La Veta (10)

District 1 Automatic Berth Prediction: Dove Creek (18)

I honestly have no idea who is going to win this District Tournament. All four teams will have to play their best to advance to the Championship so it will come down to depth pitching. I like La Veta to get the win but I could easily see the winner of Dove Creek/Nucla winning it as well.

District 2 Champion Prediction: Simla (6)

District 2 Automatic Berth Prediction: ECA (13)

Simla remains my pick to win the District Championship. They are playing their best baseball right now. ECA should be the #2 team but will face Elbert in the Semifinals.

District 3 Champion Prediction: Flatirons Academy (5)

Flatirons Academy and Rocky Mountain Lutheran will play each other in the district finals. Winner will host and loser will hit the road but both teams should get into the regional tournament.

District 4 Champion Prediction: Eads (4)

District 4 Automatic Berth: Holly (8)

Eads snags the #1 seed in the District Tournament with Holly as the #2 Seed. Should be some great matchups in the Semifinals. Eads vs McClave & Holly vs Cheyenne Wells.

District 5 Champion: Haxtun (1)

District 5 Automatic Berth: Akron (2)

The best district in Class 1A. The top 3 teams in the seeding index plus a fourth team in the top 10 in Otis. This will be a grind for the District Tournament. Haxtun, Akron, Merino will be the favorites to win the district tournament.
