Winners Bracket First Round

#1 University over #8 Valley

Rematch of the Patriot League. Valley had the biggest upset of the regional round knocking out the #2 seeded Colorado Academy. University made quick work in the regional round winning both games by 14+ runs.

#4 Resurrection Christian over #5 Montezuma-Cortez Second Best Matchup of the Opening Round

Resurrection Christian threw a pair of no hitters in the regional round and won both games by 9+ runs. Montezuma-Cortez looked to their hitting to power them to the state tournament getting 9 and 11 in their games to advance.

#3 Eaton over #6 Classical Academy Best Matchup of the Opening Round

Eaton had excellent pitching at regionals putting up a pair of shutout wins and had a pitcher get 18 strikeouts in the regional finals. TCA also had great pitching and hit the ball well scoring over 11 runs in both games plus holding both opponents to less than 3 runs.

#2 Coal Ridge over #7 Delta Third Best Matchup of the Opening Round

Coal Ridge got tested in the opening round by a good Timnath team but then got the bats rolling in the regional finals scoring 15 runs on Peak to Peak. Delta had the second biggest upset of the regional round defeating #5 Sterling 10-7 in 8 innings in Sterling. Delta will look for revenge when they lost a pair of games to Coal Ridge on May 10^th.
