
Class 3A Volleyball Weekly Review and Preview

With the momentum of the season starting to get into full swing, we take a look at the top 16 teams in the CHSAA Seeding Index and see how the start of the season has gone, who upcoming opponents are, and who is making their way to the top of the stat boards. Stats obtained 9/11/2025

Eaton
Eaton gets their season underway with a 7-1 overall record, a 2-0 league record, and are currently sitting in 1st in the Patriot League and in the CHSAA Seeding Index. In the month of September, the Reds have beat Frontier Academy 3-0 and Valley 3-0, both of which were league games for the team, and most recently they beat Peak to Peak 3-0. The team will be traveling for their next league game to Fort Morgan on 9/16 and then will host Sterling on 9/18 where the team will be looking to add couple more wins to their league and overall record.
Leading the stat board for the Reds are Addison Corder with 15 total blocks, Madi Smith with 7 total blocks, 44 digs, 89 kills, and 72 receptions, Railey Maske with 8 total blocks, Trinity Salberg with 13 serving aces and 119 assists, Hayden Logan with 11 serving aces, 51 digs, 15 assists, and 70 receptions, Harley Forster with 9 serving aces, Chloe Crider with 53 digs, 40 kills and 53 receptions, Skyelyn Lefever with 53 assists, and Lila Dejager with 25 kills.
Alamosa
With a loss to Eaton 3-1 being Alamosa’s only loss so far, the team is currently 2nd in the CHSAA Seeding Index with an 8-1 overall record, a 2-0 league record, and a 1st place standing in the Intermountain League. The team has won all their games so far in September including Pueblo County 3-0, Pagosa Springs 3-0, Delta 3-0 and Bayfield 3-0. The Mean Moose will be looking to keep their winning streak alive as they will face both Hoehne and Gunnison on 9/13 and then will face their league rival Centauri on 9/16.
Stat leaders for Alamosa are Aubrey Rothermich with 18 total blocks, 11 serving aces, and 90 kills, Ashlyn Rice with 12 total blocks, 20 serving aces, and 235 assists, Kyla Hawkins with 10 total blocks and 59 kills, Arreli Felix with 11 serving aces, Addison Rice with 87 digs, 10 assists, and 114 receptions, Jaelin Garcia with 57 digs, 7 assists and 49 receptions, and Laci Christensen with 55 digs, 47 kills and 76 receptions.
Stargate School
The Eagles are currently the last 3A school with a perfect record still intact. With a 9-0 overall record, the most recent wins for Stargate School are DSST: Conservatory Greem 3-0, Rocky Mountain Prep SMART 3-0, and KIPP Denver Collegiate 3-1. The team will be traveling to Thornton today and will be looking to keep their perfect record alive.
Leading their team on the stat board so far this season are Autumn Kasten with 8 total Blocks, 19 serving aces, and 44 kills, Kathleen Shoonveld with 7 total blocks, Mya Bruso with 5 total blocks, Chloe Pan with 33 serving aces, 44 digs, 84 kills and 66 receptions, Reese White with 32 serving aces, 51 digs, 201 assists, Morgan Stitzer with 114 digs, 27 assists, and 112 receptions, Rhyana Winkelhake with 3 assists and 39 receptions, and Scotlyn MacIntosh with 46 kills.
Salida
The Spartans are currently 5-2 to open their season with wins over Center 3-0, Mancos 3-0, Buena Vista 3-2, Crested Butte 2-0, and Norwood 2-0 and losses to Telluride 0-3 and Dolores 0-2. The team has not played any games yet in September and will get their first league game against The Vanguard School on 9/16 where Salida will be looking to start their league play off 1-0.
Spartan stat leaders so far this season are Lucy Hughes with 16 total blocks, 65 digs, 31 kills and 71 receptions, Myah Scott with 15 total blocks, Kali Keast with 13 total blocks, Cooper Fisher with 9 serving aces, 116 digs, 9 assists, and 95 receptions, Braeden Johnson with 8 serving aces and 23 kills, Madisyn Wilcox with 8 serving aces, 70 digs, and 113 assists, and Hazel Brown with 4 assists, 39 kills and 72 receptions.
The Classical Academy
TCA lost their last game, which was against Pueblo County 1-2, giving the team a 5-1 overall record with wins over Pueblo South 2-0, Palmer 2-0, and Discovery Canyon 2-0. The Titans will play their next game against Palmer Ridge on 9/16 where they will be looking to bounce back from their loss and add a win to their record.
Stat leaders for the Titans are Aubrie Renn with 12 total blocks, 10 serving aces, and 23 kills, Katie Gieske with 8 total blocks and 12 serving aces, Caylee Somersalmi with 6 total blocks, 20 serving aces, and 17 digs, Miranda Campos with 26 digs, 32 kills and 36 receptions, Avery Jaeger with 25 digs and127 assists, Maggie Johnson with 9 assists, Addy Macha with 6 assists and 57 receptions, and Ashlyn Delany with 55 kills and 43 receptions.
Windsor Charter Academy
Windsor Charter climbs their way up the seeding index with a 7-3 overall record, a 0-1 league record, falling to University 0-3, and currently sitting 7th in the Patriot League. Aside from the loss to the Bulldogs, the Firebirds have gotten wins over Rocky Mountain Prep SMART 3-0, Banning Lewis 3-1, and Highland 3-1. The team will resume play next week and will host Weld Central on 9/16 and then will travel to Strasburg on 9/18. Both games will be league games for the team, where they will be looking to work their way up the league ranks.
Leaders on the stat board for Windsor Charter are Bailee Burgener with 17 total blocks, 10 serving aces, and 29 kills, Aubri Penfold with 9 total blocks, and 104 assists, Vivian Dizmang with 5 total blocks, Emma George with 17 serving aces, 60 digs, 19 assists and 23 receptions, Hannah Richardson with 15 serving aces, and 22 kills, Ella Grasmick with 23 digs and 49 kills, and Cami Goossens with 11 assists.
Resurrection Christian
The Cougars are just starting their season and are 2-0 so far, both overall and in league play, placing them in 1st in the Patriot League. Resurrection Christian got wins over Liberty Common and Platte Valley so far this season, both in 3-0 fashion. The team will be adding a third game to their record to end the week and will travel to CSCHS on 9/13 where they will be looking for a 3-0 start. Then the Cougars will host Forge Christian in 9/16 and Frontier Academy on 9/18.
So far the leaders on the stat board for Resurrection Christian are Kaylynn Pardue with 3 total blocks, 9 serving aces, and 21 kills, Sadie Whyard with 3 total blocks, Tatum Highstreet with 3 total blocks, Kylee Mayes with 9 serving aces, 6 digs, and 64 assists, Jada Nordhagen with 4 serving aces, 2 assists and 18 receptions, Blake Coors with 13 digs, 1 assists, and 21 receptions, Paige Michaelson with 6 digs and 20 kills, Brooklyn Diepersloot 11 kills, and Amanda Pardue with 14 receptions.
Forge Christian
The Fury starts their season with a 4-2 overall record, a 1-1 league record and are 4th in the Metro League. Since the month of September started, the team has lost to Colorado Academy 1-3 but has gotten wins over The Vanguard School 3-1, Denver Christian 3-0 and Platte Valley 3-2. Forge Christian will end the week in tournament play, facing Peak to Peak, Skyview and Bennett all on 9/13. Next week the team will play Resurrection Christian on 9/16 to kick of the week of games.
Stat leaders for the Fury are Auburn Bohall with 7 total blocks, Maddie Saba with 7 total blocks, Finley Queen with 7 total blocks, Anny Nance with 18 serving aces, 30 digs, 127 assists and 30 kills, Genevieve Leonardi with 11 serving aces and 8 assists, Addison Davis with 9 serving aces, 55 digs, 11 assists, 30 kills and 78 receptions, Charlotte Bisque with 31 digs and 56 receptions, Maddie Saba with 33 kills and Bella Tiner with 53 receptions.
Aspen
The Aspen Skiers are currently 6-1 with wins over Olathe 3-0, Lake County 2-0, DSST: College View 2-0, Vail Christian 2-0, Gunnison 2-1 and Grand valley 3-0, but falling to Glenwood Springs 1-2. The team is also 2-0 in league and are currently sitting in 2nd in the Western Slope League. Aspen will be looking ahead to late in next week for their next game where they will take on Cedaredge on 9/18.
Skiers who are at the top of the stat board are Andrea Lee with 2 total blocks and 31 kills, Brooke Jewell with 2 total blocks and 27 kills, Autumn Sherwin with 1 total block25 digs, and 43 receptions, Mary Morse with 23 serving aces, 28 digs, 23 kills and 26 receptions, Elena Creamer with 16 serving aces, 41 digs, 8 assists, and 42 receptions, Belle Sinclair with 13 serving aces and 62 assists, and Ava Braley with 28 assists.
Gunnison
Gunnison went 3-1 so far in the month of September, beating D’Evelyn 2-0, STEMSHR 2-0, and Bennett 2-0, and losing to Aspen 1-2. The Cowboys are currently 4-2 overall on the season with 1-0 league record, placing the team in 2nd in the Western Slope League. Gunnison will be looking for their next win to end the week and will travel to Alamosa on 9/13 to take on the Moose, and then they will also face Centauri the same day. Next week, play will start for the team against Olathe on 9/18.
Leading the team on the stat board are Rose Kowal with 12 total blocks, 5 serving aces and 18 kills, Maya Petrie with 8 total blocks, Roxie Uhrig with 3 total blocks, Ruthie Lock with 3 serving aces and 36 receptions, Aubrey Welfelt with 3 serving aces, 22 digs, 25 kills and 19 receptions, Aubriel Loken with 29 digs, 5 assists, and 66 receptions, Natalia Sabino with 26 digs and 28 assists, Addison Claus with 30 assists, and Kaya Burnett with 14 kills.
Sterling
The Tigers are 4-3 overall so far this season, with wins over St. Mary’s Academy 3-0, Weld Central 3-0, and Strasburg 3-0, and losses to Gering 1-3 and Scottsbluff 1-3 so far in September. But the team 2-0 in league play and currently in 1st in the Patriot league. Sterling will be looking to add another win to their league record next week as they will kick of play with a league game against Brush on 9/16 and then they will travel to Eaton to play another league game on 9/18.
Leading the stat board for the Tigers so far this season are Rylie Kaiser with 6 total blocks, Bailey Jackson with 6 total blocks, Karsyn Tonche with 6 total blocks, 40 digs, and 46 receptions, Kenzi Rubottom with 21 serving aces, 51 digs, 43 kills and 68 receptions, Taylor Tonche with 11 serving aces, 47 digs, 11 assists, and 112 receptions, Sydney Basseggio with 9 serving aces, and 51 assists, Berkley Gardiner with 65 assists, and Addi Wright with 25 kills.
The Vanguard School
The Vanguard School is currently 4-1 overall on the season with a recent win over Peyton 3-0 after losing to Forge Christian 1-3. The Coursers have some tough challenges upcoming on their schedule and will be taking on Salida to start play next week on 9/16 and then will travel to Lamar on 9/18 to play the thunder. Both of these games will be league games that the team will be looking to win to get their league record started right.
Leading The Vanguard School on the stat board so far this season are Ava Davis with 11 total blocks, Olivia Dommer with 8 total blocks, 9 serving aces, Jenna Henson with 8 total blocks and 40 kills, Ainsley Anderson with 19 serving aces and 94 assists, Kayla Heidel with 9 serving aces, Aili Haisley with 148 digs, 1 assists, and 88 receptions, Izzy Brown with 49 digs, 29 kills and 48 receptions, Meining Zhang with 40 digs, 65 assists, and 45 kills, and Laila Czarniawski with 55 receptions.
Prospect Ridge Academy
Prospect Ridge Academy is currently 8-1 overall, 1-0 in league play and are 2nd in the Metro League. In the last week of play, the Miners were able to get wins over Eagle Ridge Academy 3-0, Ascent Classical Academy 2-0, William Smith 2-0, St. Mary’s 2-0, Ellicott 2-0, and Brush 3-2, but fell to Elizabeth 0-3. Prospect Ridge Academy will play next week against Stargate School on 9/16 where the team will be looking to get another win in the books.
Stat leaders for Prospect Ridge are Molly McLemore with 6 total blocks, Brianna Bransom with 4 total blocks and 39 kills, Alessandra Erramouspe with 4 total blocks, DeLaney Ash with 32 serving aces, Brook Luhmann with 23 serving aces, 25 digs, 33 kills and 29 receptions, Genevieve Forsman with 23 serving aces, 49 digs, 10 assists, and 68 receptions, Ceira Trinta with 23 digs, 31 kills and 49 receptions, and Hannah Karpowich with 31 assists.
Peak to Peak
Peak to Peak Pumas are currently 6-3 overall on the season, with no league games yet played, and have the win over Riverdale Ridge 3-2 but a loss to Eaton 0-3 in September. The team will be looking to get a few more games under their belt before they start league play, starting with tournament play to end this week on 9/13, where they will play Forge Christian and Bennett, and then next week the team will travel to Arrupe Jesuit on 9/17 to play before they begin league games the following week.
Sitting at the top of the stat board for the Pumas are Clara Wright with 16 total blocks, 12 serving aces, and 55 kills, Charlette Lindberg with 6 total blocks and 20 kills, Mae LaRue with 5 total blocks and 27 kills, Tessa Hirt with 9 serving aces, 34 digs, and 113 assists, Natalia Bejarano with 8 serving aces, 60 digs, 80 receptions, Molly Sessions with 37 digs and 45 receptions, Gianna Clark with 4 assists, and Eliana Foster with 62 receptions.
Coal Ridge
The Titans have a 6-3 overall record so far this season with a 2-1 league record and are 3rd in the Western Slope League. Coal Ridge has been undefeated so far in September, getting wins over league opponents Cedaredge 3-0 and North Fork 3-0 and Delta 3-0. The team will be looking to add more wins to their league record and climb up the league rankings and will be taking on league opponent Roaring Fork on 9/18.
Leading the team on the stat board so far this season are Samantha Williams with 12 total blocks, 11 serving aces, and 29 receptions, Mia McCullough with 11 total blocks, Ava Harlow with 3 total blocks, 88 digs, 97 assists, and 64 kills, Austin Jensen with 19 serving aces and 120 assists, Kina Will with 13 serving aces and 42 kills, Chloe Coon with 119 digs and 124 receptions, Shayla Huck with 89 digs and 74 receptions, and Reese Elder with 34 kills.
Centauri
The Falcons are 4-2 overall on the season after going 2-2 in September, losing to Pueblo West 0-2 and Loveland 0-2, but beating Durango 2-1 and Middle Park 2-0. Centauri will be playing Hoehne and Gunnison on 9/13 and will try to add more wins to their record. Next week, the Falcons will start league play and will face their league opponent Alamosa on 9/16.
