Every year during the preseason I give my league prediction. This year I am going to update them just one time before we enter league play. I will have my original predictions so you can compare from the preseason. I will also just quickly breakdown each league. I will also update the 16 teams I think make the playoffs. East League

We made a few changes from the preseason till today. Currently the East League has 4 playoff contenders and I believe 3 teams could get into the playoffs. Should be a good battle to see who wins the league crown and who could host in the first round.

My predictions for the East League

League Champion: Strasburg

No changes form the preseason to today. The IML is a bit down this year and may see just the league champion get into the playoffs. I think the top 3 teams all could be playoff contenders but now that league is starting it will come down to that.

After the top 2 we completely change the order in League 7/Patriot League. I would say currently only 3 teams look to be playoff contenders and this league may only get the league champion in. Sterling loss to Banning Lewis will hurt their shot at the playoff, but I think they could still get in.

No changes form the preseason till today. 3 playoff contenders have emerged from the Metro League. I am guessing only two teams will get in from the Metro League and that will be due to the bottom half of the league combined with just 1 win.

I think the North League is a candidate for the best league in Class 2A. All 6 teams enter league play at .500 or higher. All 6 teams currently are playoff contenders, and I truly think at least 4 teams could get into the playoffs from the North League.

The southwest league should be very competitive with the top 5 teams all being in playoff contention and the top 5 teams all fighting for the league title. I could see any of the top 5 finishing in any order and should be a fun league schedule in the southeast.

I think the West League could be a great race! I think Delta and Basalt are favorites for the top two spots but after that Aspen and Coal Ridge could also get into the race for the league title. 4 teams are playoff contenders currently and I could see the west league get 3 teams into the playoffs.

Playoff Predictions

Because Class 2A is so uncertain I am doing my playoff prediction teams a bit different. I am going to have teams I think are locks to make the playoffs, In the Mix, and uncertain. Uncertain will have a lot of teams in this category. A lot will be decided by league play and that is why I will have so many teams in this category. The second half of Class 2A will be a blast!

I am very unsure about Class 2A. You could see teams really take a tumble if they are upset. I think the first week of league play really shows us who is in the mix and not.

Class 2A Football Playoff Projections & Predictions Week 6

This year to reach the playoffs is simple. Either win your league title or be inside the top 16 of the CHSAA Seeding Index. After they select the 16 teams that make the playoffs, they use the CHSAA Seeding Index to seed the playoffs.

Class 2A Playoff Projections (IF the Season Ended Today)

This is if the season ended today 10/3/2024. Using the CHSAA Seeding Index I will come up with the Playoff field. League Champions selected with my Predictions. I will seed & select the bracket with the CHSAA Seeding Index. Remember this is still very early and things will change. The league champions I selected are at the top with the at-large berths following.
