
Class 3A Softball Weekly Review and Preview

As we are about to wrap up the regular season in softball, we examine which teams are currently in 1st and 2nd of each 3A league. We will see their current stance in the CHSAA Seeding Index, who recent games were against, how each of these teams are ending their regular season, and if they are sitting inside of the playoff bubble or not.

Denver Metro League
Forge Christian
The Fury enter the last week of the regular season with a 17-3 overall record, a 5-0 league record, 5th in the CHSAA Seeding Index, and in the 1st placed spot in the Denver Metro League. Forge Christian was able to get the win for their first October game, beating The academy 12-1, and will look to carry that success as they wrap up the regular season and get ready for the play offs. The final games for the team will be a double header against Arvada tomorrow 10/9, and Jefferson Academy in a final league game on 10/10.
Leading the Fury’s stat board are Julianna Alfaro with 1 home run, a 2.85 ERA, 26 runs, 31 hits, and 34 RBI, Kaedence Miller with 1 home run, Maxine Rossi with 17 stolen bases, 34 runs, and 29 hits, Rio Beck with 16 stolen bases, 43 runs, 42 hits, and 28 RBI, Vivian Stults with 13 stolen bases, and Honor Kuyper with 29 RBI.
The Academy
The Academy takes the 2nd place spot in the Denver Metro League after falling to Forge Christian 12-1. The Wildcats were able to beat Jefferson Academy last week 18-2 which makes their record before their last regular season game 11-11 and 3-2 in league play, currently putting the team in 16th in the CHSAA Seeding Index. The team’s last regular season game will be against Peak to Peak tomorrow and then the team will get ready for postseason play.
Leading The Academy’s stat board are Keara Pogue with 3 home runs,15 stolen bases, am 11.72 ERA, and 21 RBI, Finley Stark with 3 home runs, 13 stolen bases, an 8.84 ERA, 31 runs, 26 hits, and 27 RBI, Savannah Tolitsky with 1 home run, 120 stolen bases, and 26 hits, Aubree D’ambrosio with a 7.47 ERA and 20 RBI, Harper Scott with 31 runs and 27 hits and Adrina Arenas with 25 runs.
Lower Platte League
Wray/Yuma
Wray/Yuma is currently 26th in the CHSAA Seeding Index with an 11-10 overall record, a 4-0 league record and are 1st in the Lower Platte League. The Eagles have yet to take on any teams in October but will end their regular season with a double header against Burlington on 10/9.
Stat leaders for the Eagles are Danyelle Davis with 2 home runs, 15 stolen bases, a 4.85 ERA, 27 runs, 31 hits and 29 RBI, Lauren Gdanitz with 1 home runs, 17 stolen bases, 28 runs, and 32 hits, London King with 14 stolen bases, Priscylla White with a 2.45 ERA and 18 RBI, Ellie Oestman with an 8.03 ERA, and Clara Oestman with 27 runs and 18 RBI.
Limon
Limon currently sits outside of the 32-team playoff bubble at 34 in the CHSAA Seeding Index. The Badgers have a 4-17 overall record, a 2-2 league record and are 2nd in the Lower Platte League. Limon was able to get the win over Rocky Ford 15-9 and will be looking to add two more wins to their record as they will face Holyoke on 10/11 in a double header to end the regular season.
Stat leaders for Limon are Maddie Rushing with 1 home run and 7 RBI, Bryleigh Fox with 1 home run and a 9.61 ERA, Cadence Bledsoe with 1 home run, Alex Kuhns with 12 stolen bases, 15 runs, and 19 hits, Chloe Jaques with 10 stolen bases, Paige Denne with 10 stolen bases, Randi Carson with 15 runs, Jessa Book with 14 runs, 21 hits and 9 RBI, and Audra Kollat with 16 hits and 15 RBI.
Patriot League
University
University took the top spot in the Patriot league after beating Eaton 8-7 in 8 innings last week. The team continued their success and beat Resurrection Christian 11-1 this week. The Bulldogs are now 20-2 overall on the season with a 8-0 league record and behind Eaton at 2 in the CHSAA Seeding Index. The regular season will end for the team with a league game against Strasburg on 10/9 where University will look to keep their perfect league record.
Leading the Bulldog’s stat board are Jasi Cole with 6 home runs, 9 stolen bases, a 1.72 ERA, 30 runs, and 28 RBI, Natalie Galindo with 4 home runs, 31 runs, 25 hits and 28 RBI, Sydney Goetzel with 4 home runs, a 4.68 ERA, 35 hits, and 35 RBI, Emma Zacheis with 10 stolen bases and 33 runs, and Kenzie Wyatt with 7 stolen bases, a 4.44 ERA, and 33 hits.
Eaton
Eaton leads the CHSAA Seeding Index with the number one spot. The Reds are 18-4 overall on the season with a 7-1 league record and the 2nd place spot in the Patriot League. The team lost to University 7-8 in extra innings to lose the 1st place league spot. Eaton then was able to beat Platte Valley 17-0 and Weld Central 15-0. To end the regular season, the Reds will play Resurrection Christian on 10/9 and then get ready for the State Title Race.
Stat leaders for the Reds are Johanna Galvan with 8 home runs, a 0.77 ERA, 32 hits and 32 RBI, Bria Foster with 8 home runs, a 1.62 ERA, 38 hits, and 40 RBI, Emma Anderson with 7 home runs, 23 stolen bases, 38 runs, 40 hits and 32 RBI, Paige Hofer with 11 stolen bases, Kenzie Braddy with 7 stolen bases, a 0.64 ERA, and 26 runs, and Brooklyn Minne with 29 runs.
Tri Peaks I League
Southeast Colorado
The Angels are currently 4th in the CHSAA Seeding Index with a 14-2 overall record, a 7-0 league record and the 1st place spot in the Tri Peak I League. In October, the team has racked up the wins, beating Rocky Ford 20-0, Burlington 12-0 in two games, and Lamar 9-3. The regular season will end for Southeast Colorado in La Junta on 10/9 where they will be looking to keep their perfect October record rolling.
Stat leaders for Southeast Colorado are Zoe Martinez with 5 stolen bases, 7 runs, 5 hits and 5 RBI, Lexi Shotton with 3 stolen bases, Savanna Brown with 2 stolen bases,6 hits, and 5 RBI, Kennedy Grurman with a 1.62 ERA, Anna Wollert with an 8.71 ERA, Kara Wilson with 6 runs, and 6 hits, Emma Wollert with 6 runs, and Bailey Sierra with 5 RBI.
Lamar
The Thunder currently sit 8th in the CHSAA Seeding Index with a 12-9 overall record, a 5-2 league record and are 2nd in the Tri Peaks I League. Lamar beat Alamosa 11-10 but fell to Southeast Colorado 9-3 now in October. The team will be looking to add a couple of more wins to their record to end the regular season and will play Rocky Ford on 10/9 and Bursh on 10/11.
Leading the Lamar stat board are Klhoe Fernandez with 1 home run, 11 stolen bases, 22 runs, 23 hits, and 11 RBI, Alexa Aguilar with 1 home run, 13 runs, 29 hits and 16 RBI, Carlin Weber with 8 stolen bases, a 2.25 ERA, 13 runs, 28 hits and 16 RBI, and Yahirett Roman with 7 stolen bases.
Tri Peaks II League
Florence
The Huskies are 9-8 overall on the season, 2-0 in league play, have the 1st place spot in the Tri Peaks II league and are currently the last team in the playoff bubble at 32 in the CHSAA Seeding Index. Since the start of October, Florece has beat Woodland Park 12-9, fell to Sand Creek 2-12 in two games, and beat Mitchell 16-6. To end the regular season, the team will take on Bennett tonight and then will play a double header against Burlington on 10/11 and hope that they can do enough to stay inside of the playoff bubble.
Leading the teams’ stat board are Addison Dalton with 3 home runs, 12 stolen bases, a 3.21 ERA, 27 runs, 24 hits, and 28 RBI, Lilly Rose with 2 home runs, 27 stolen bases, 36 runs, and 36 hits, Makala Miller with 2 home runs, 30 runs, and 25 RBI, and Kendra Steffenson with 14 stolen bases, 22 hits, and 20 RBI.
Woodland Park
The Panthers are currently 40 in the CHSAA Seeding Index with a 5-13 overall record, 1 0-2 league record and are 2nd in the Tri Peaks II League. Woodland Park lost to Florence 9-12 to start October, beat Mitchell 23-3 and 24-9, but fell to Sand Creek 3-12. To the end the season for Woodland Park, the team will play in Canon City on 10/10.
Stat leaders for Woodland Park are Christine Renteria with 2 home runs, 30 stolen bases, 31 runs, 18 hits, and 22 RBI, Austin DiFabio with 17 stolen bases, Tyler DiFabio with 13 stolen bases, 19 hits and 27 RBI, Mollie Miller with a 12.54 ERA, Sarah Fuhrmann with 20 runs, Cheyenne Becker with 16 runs, and Paige Haugen with 21 hits.
Western Slope League
Delta
Delta is currently 14-8 overall on the season with an 11-1 league record, in the 1st place spot of the Western Slope League and 13th in the CHSAA Seeding Index. The Panthers have lost every game since the start of October, falling to Rifle 15-16 and Durango 1-12 and 9-11. The team will be looking to get one more win before they start postseason play and will face Montrose on 10/9.
Stat leaders for Delta are Sophia Siennicki with 2 home runs, 24 hits and 34 RBI, Olivia Hines with 1 home runs, 13 stolen bases, a 7.33 ERA, 33 runs, 31 hits and 24 RBI, Jazlyn Naranjo with 1 home run, 12 stolen bases, 30 runs, 28 hits and 26 RBI, Maddy Zmiewsky with 6 stolen bases, and Lily Gallegos with a 5.48 ERA.
Cedaredge
The Bruins are 14-5 overall on the season with an 11-1 league record, 2nd in the Western Slope League and 11th in the CHSAA Seeding Index. Cedaredge has not played since the start of October and will get one last regular season game in before they start postseason play. This game will be against Rifle on 10/10 at home for the Bruins.
Stat leaders for Cedaredge are Tia Homedew with 4 home runs, 8 stolen bases, a 3.09 ERA, 35 runs, 33 hits, and 31 RBI, Meri Hollembeak with 3 home runs, 11 stolen bases, 41 runs, and 25 hits, Kiera Stroh with 11 stolen bases, 40 runs, and 30 RBI, and Jewel Laliberte with 33 hits and 29 RBI.
CSML North League
The Classical Academy
The Titans round out the top 10 of the CHSAA Seeding Index with a 15-5 overall record, a 6-1 league record and the 2nd place spot in the CSML North League, being the top 3A team in that league. TCA beat Falcon 11-6 to start October play, and will end the regular season facing Elizabeth on 10/9 before they start postseason play.
Stat leaders for the Titans are Ada Wilson with 4 home runs, 17 stolen bases, a 3.52 ERA, 31 runs, 28 hits, and 26 RBI, Khaiyah Bacon with 3 home runs and13 stolen bases, Caina Passarelli with 2 home runs, 29 runs and 27 RBI, Taytum Kimbro with 14 stolen bases, 29 runs, 32 hits, and 27 RBI, and Basil Murphy with a 3.80 ERA and 24 hits.
Denver Prep League
Kennedy
Kennedy leads the Denver Prep League with a 1-0 league record, a 5-12-1 overall record and are 36 in the CHSAA Seeding Index. The Commanders lost to Mullen 12-16 and Overland 4-15 now in October and will see if they can get a couple of wins to end the season and will play Peak to Peak tonight and Arvada on 10/11.
Stat leaders for Kennedy are Aleeyah Garcia with 3 home runs, 14 runs, 15 hits, and 16 RBI, Alexiah Lunas with 1 home run, 15 stolen bases, 19 runs, 20 hits and 11 RBI, Genesis Lujan with 24 stolen bases, 19 runs, and 15 hits, Izzy Villafuerte with 15 stolen bases Aaliyah Velarde with a 10.07 ERA, Amerie Herrera with an 18.77 ERA, and Giana Valdez with 14 runs.
Frontier League
Arvada
The Bulldogs are 12th in the CHSAA Seeding Index, 2nd in the Frontier League, are 16-3 overall on the season and 7-1 in league play. Arvada has won all of their October games, beating Jefferson 22-7 and Denver North 14-2. The team will be looking to keep their October Magic alive through the rest of the regular season and into the playoffs. Arvada will face Forge Christian in a double header on 10/9 and will end the regular season in Kennedy on 10/11.
