8-Man Football Playoff Projections Week 10

This year to reach the playoffs is simple. Either win your league title or be inside the top 16 of the CHSAA Seeding Index. After they select the 16 teams that make the playoffs, they use the CHSAA Seeding Index to seed the playoffs. This week I will be giving my predictions on who makes the playoffs, but I will also look at if the season ended today who would make the playoffs at the end. Final Week of the Regular Season! 8-Man Playoff Predictions (Who I think make the playoffs)

This is who I think make the playoffs and who win the leagues. In 8-Man League champions are guaranteed a berth. The rest will be selected by CHSAA Seeding Index. Seeding is determined by CHSAA Seeding Index. I am picking my 9 At-Large teams via non-league schedules, remaining schedules, and how I think teams will do. Expect changes week to week especially making these projections/predictions so early. League Champions are posted first then the At-Large Teams.

Playoff Hunt for Final Spots & Bubble Breakdown

Calhan, Hayden, Springfield, Crowley County

The top 20 teams are still in the hunt for the playoffs barring an upset. The top 12 teams are all locks for the playoffs. The main question marks will be Plateau Valley and Las Animas. If both win, they should lock up playoff spots. The wild card is going to be Hayden or Springfield. If Hayden can defeat West Grand they will get the automatic berth and could push one of the final teams out like Las Animas or Plateau Valley. The same goes for Springfield if they can beat McClave for the league title. We will go thru the teams on the bubble on the remaining schedule.

Remaining Schedules

Plateau Valley-Soroco (Must win game and should get in but mentioned above how they could get jumped.)

Byers-St. Mary’s (Must win game and a win gets Byers the League Title. A loss and Simla wins the league title and Byers more than likely falls out of the playoffs.)

Las Animas-Swink (Must win game and should get in but mentioned above how they could get jumped)

Calhan-Have played all their regular season games. They will hope for one of the teams mentioned beforehand to lose to get into the playoffs. Calhan is at #16 but Fowler or Crowley County will take that final spot or even Hayden.)

Fowler-Crowley County (Winner gets the league title and the automatic berth into the playoffs!)

Hayden-West Grand (Winner get the league title and the automatic berth into the playoffs. Not sure If Hayden can get into the playoffs without winning this game.)

Springfield-McClave (If McClave wins they win the league title. If Springfield wins it forces a three way tie for the league title. Not sure If Springfield can get into the playoffs without winning this game.)
