Class 2A Football Playoff Projections & Bubble Watch Week 10

This year to reach the playoffs is simple. Either win your league title or be inside the top 16 of the CHSAA Seeding Index. After they select the 16 teams that make the playoffs, they use the CHSAA Seeding Index to seed the playoffs. This week I will be giving my predictions on who makes the playoffs, but I will also look at if the season ended today who would make the playoffs at the end. Final Week of the Regular Season!

Class 2A Playoff Predictions (Who I think make the playoffs)

This is who I think make the playoffs and who win the leagues. In Class 2A all-league champions are guaranteed a berth. The rest will be selected by CHSAA Seeding Index. Seeding is determined by CHSAA Seeding Index. I am picking my 9 At-Large teams via non-league schedules, remaining schedules, and how I think teams will do. Expect changes week to week especially making these projections/predictions so early. League Champions are posted first then the At-Large Teams.

Intermountain: Alamosa

Playoff Hunt for Final Spots

Berthoud, University, Coal Ridge, Weld Central

For Class 2A I am very uncertain what to think. I think the top 12 teams are locks for the playoffs. Remember Basalt won the Western Slope so only the top 15 will get into the playoffs. Alamosa & Pagosa Springs play each other for the IML crown and before I thought lose is out now I believe both could get into the playoffs. Reason why is Delta plays Coal Ridge with the lose out and the winner gets into the playoffs, University will face Resurrection Christian, & Berthoud will face Eaton. If both University, Coal Ridge, and Berthoud all lose then I believe Pagosa Springs or Alamosa gets in with a loss. If Delta loses things could be a bit different for the loser of Alamosa vs Pagosa Springs and the reason why is Delta has the head-to-head win over Alamosa. It will be close for the final spot. I also did not mention Weld Central who is at #19. Weld Central is at .5259 and would have to jump to .5730 to get into the playoffs. Weld Central will see a jump if they defeat Sterling but not sure how big, of a jump it will be. Weld Central is still a factor with a win over Sterling and will factor in especially if, Berthoud, Pagosa springs, Coal Ridge, and University all lose. I do think if Pagosa Springs beats Alamosa then Alamosa will probably get that final spot in Alamosa is at .6273 and would need to take a huge drop to end up at #16 who is at .5629. Nothing is certain and winning is your best option to get into the playoffs as all it takes is one upset to change everything I wrote about above. For now, I am going with Pagosa Springs to get the final playoff spot over Berthoud, University, Coal Ridge, and Weld Central.

I will seed & select the bracket with the CHSAA Seeding Index. Remember this is still very early and things will change. The league champions I selected are at the top with the at-large berths following.
