8-Man Football Playoff Predictions First Round and Full Bracket
First, this is just my opinion. I would love to hear or see your thoughts on how the 6-man bracket turns out. Second, Good Luck to all teams! I do not cheer against any teams. We will have a full preview of the first-round games posted yesterday.
8-Man Playoff Predictions 1st Round Only
#1 Akron over #16 Crowley County
A pair of league champions face off in this game. Both teams want to be physical at the point of attack and look for the more physical team to win.
#9 Mancos over #8 West Grand Best Game of the Week
This should be one of the better games of the opening round. Mancos did not end the season they wanted so look for them to play physical. West Grand will look to match the physicality of Mancos but also get their QB going in this game.
#4 Sanford over #13 Las Animas
Sanford ended their season on a high note, getting a big win to end the year over Dove Creek. Las Animas also ended the year on a two-game winning streak. This could be a quick game with both teams looking to run the ball and be aggressive at the point of attack.
#5 Dayspring Christian over #12 Byers
Byers was the #5 seed a year ago and they will have the tables turned as they look to pull the upset. Byers will have to match the physical play of Dayspring Christian. The line of scrimmage will be key to this game.
#2 Haxtun over #15 Plateau Valley
Haxtun ended the season dominating down the stretch and they will look to build upon that in the playoffs. They open against a team who looks to spread the ball around the field. Plateau Valley will look to play to their strength but must be able to match the physical attack of Haxtun.
#7 Sedgwick County over #10 Clear Creek 3rd Best Game
This game could be an interesting one. Clear Creek last season came into the playoffs underrated and pushed Akron till the end. Clear Creek is seeded higher this year and will look to pull the upset on the road. Sedgwick County will look to get the run game going and dominate at the line of scrimmage. Sedgwick County also ended the year losing 3 of their last 4 games.
#3 McClave over #14 Elbert
This is a rematch from 8/29 when McClave defeated Elbert 46 to 38. Plenty has changed from that matchup mainly McClave has Mason Barr back at RB. Elbert does have the athletes to scare teams and must have a huge offensive to pull the upset.
#6 Norwood over #11 Simla 2nd Best Matchup of Week
I nearly picked the upset here, but I am going with Norwood over Simla. Norwood is battle tested in the Mountain league and will look to grab a big first round win. Simla is also battle tested and has playoff experience. Expect this to be a good game and homefield advantage could be key.
