
MileHigh Prep Report Class 1A Girls Basketball Preseason Poll
Note: I am just going to quickly give the rankings and a quick breakdown of what they are returning. I will be doing my District/League Predictions for Class 1A thru 3A next week along with full Season Previews soon. Games kickoff for Basketball December 1st.

| #1 | McClave Defending State Champions | McClave is your defending State Champions. McClave will look to build off their State Championship run and return a loaded roster to do that. McClave returns their top 4 scorers from last year and will look for Abrielle Gomez (16.4 ppg) and Addison Vellejos (12.6 ppg) to lead them to another Title. |
| #2 | Eads Made State Tournament (Went 2-1, 3rd Place) | Eads made the State Tournament last year finishing in 3rd place defeating Stratton in that game. Eads returns nearly their entire roster from last season and will look to challenge for the crown. Eads will look for Anna Wollert (14.1 ppg) and Tailee Weeks-Johnson (8.6 ppg) to lead the way. |
| #3 | Stratton Made State Tournament (Went 1-2, 4th Place) | Stratton made the State Tournament last year falling in the 3rd place game to Eads. Stratton will lose a few key pieces from last year’s team including their #2 and #4 scorers. Stratton will look for Sophia Isenbart (17.4 ppg) to lead and also look for Elle Bohnen (5.8 ppg) to step up this year. |
| #4 | Fleming Made State Tournament (Went 1-2) | Fleming made the State Tournament last year falling in the Consolation Finals to ECA. Fleming was led by a junior core last year and they will look to make that jump into the top teams of 1A this year. Fleming returns their top 5 scorers from last year and will look for Brooke Schaefer (11.7 ppg) and Ciana Lousberg (9.7 ppg) to be leaders. |
| #5 | Caliche Lost at Regionals to Briggsdale | Caliche did not make it to the State Tournament last year, falling in the Regional Finals to Briggsdale. Caliche will return the core of last year’s team but did lose some key senior leadership. Caliche will turn to Alexis Breidnebach (10.1 ppg) and Ryann Svoboda (9.6 ppg) to be leaders this season. |
| #6 | Prairie Lost at Regionals to Idalia | Prairie did not make it to the State Tournament last year, falling in the Regional Finals to Idalia. Prairie will look to get over the hump this year and return their top 3 scorers to make that push. Hannah Kugler (17.7 ppg) and Molly Walker (10.4 ppg) look to lead a young Prairie team into this season. |
| #7 | Evangelical Christian Made State Tournament (Went 2-1, 5th Place) | Evangelical Christian made it to the State Tournament last year, finishing in 5th place with a win over Fleming. ECA will look for another deep run this year but they do lose their #2 and #3 scorers from last season. ECA depth is a huge concern but look for Reagan Schultz (12.7 ppg) and Mia Castro (10.4 ppg) to lead ECA this season. |
| #8 | Hi-Plains Made State Tournament (Went 0-2) | Hi-Plains made the State Tournament last year going 0-2. Hi-Plains will look for another State Tournament run, but replacing 2 of their top 5 scorers will be key. Hi-Plains will look to Cambria Seaman (11.7 ppg) and Kennedy Henschel (5.6 ppg) to lead a young core into the season. |
| #9 | Briggsdale Made State Tournament (Went 0-2) | Briggsdale made the State Tournament last year going 0-2. Briggsdale has been a constant at the State Tournament and will look to make that run again this year. Briggsdale will lose their #2 scorer from last year but return top scorer Claire Brown (14.2 ppg) and #3 Scorer Bailey Loyd (10.3 ppg). |
| #10 | Springfield Lost at Regionals to Evangelical Christian | Springfield did not make it to the State Tournament last year falling in the regional finals to ECA. Springfield was led by a young core last year and return their top 4 scorers from last year. Cobi Mackey (18.5 ppg) and Jersey Speck (13.6 ppg) are both looking to build on a very successful freshman campaign. |
| #11 | Flagler Lost at Regionals to McClave | Flagler missed the State Tournament last year falling in the regional finals to McClave. Flagler had 0 seniors on their roster last year and will look to build off the success they had plus the good competition they face. Flagler will look for Rylie Berry (11.2 ppg) and Sydnie Berry (10.9 ppg) to build off the success of last season. |
| #12 | Genoa-Hugo Lost at Regionals to Eads | Genoa-Hugo missed the State Tournament last year losing in the Regional Finals to Eads. Genoa-Hugo had just 1 senior on their roster last year and hopes to build on the success they found last year. Rylee Corn (8.7 ppg) and Amy James (6.7 ppg) will look to be leaders this year for the Pirates. |
| #13 | Granada Lost at Regionals to Flagler | Granada missed the State Tournament last year falling at Regionals to Flagler. Granada was led by a young team last year and return nearly their entire roster. Granada will return their top 4 scorers and will look for Dayzriana Quintana (9.5 ppg) and Emersen Hernandez (7.5 ppg) to be leaders this season. |
| #14 | Nucla Lost at Regionals to Genoa-Hugo | Nucla did not make the state tournament last year losing at Regionals to Genoa-Hugo. Nucla had plenty of success last year securing 19 wins but will look to punch their ticket to state. Nucla will return 3 of their top 5 scorers but will have to replace their #2 scorer. Lantry Galley (11.4 ppg) and Darcy Bray (7.9 ppg) will look to step into leadership roles this season. |
| #15 | Lone Star Lost at Regionals to De Beque | Lone Star did not qualify for the state tournament last year losing to De Beque at Regionals. Lone Star will hope to advance farther this year and return their entire roster to make that push. Lone Star will hope for Jade Kuntz (13.1 ppg) and Aimee Trejo (11.0 ppg) to continue to improve and get Lone Star to state. |
| #16 | Kit Carson Lost at Regionals to Caliche | Kit Carson missed the State Tournament last year losing to Caliche at Regionals. Kit Carson will look to get back to the state tournament this year and return 4 of their top 5 scorers from a year ago including their top 3. Avery Johnson (13.3 ppg) and Shay Rady (9.8 ppg) look to lead the Wildcats this season. |
