MileHigh Prep Report Way to Early 6-Man Football Rankings

With the Preliminary Leagues out for the 2026 Football Season we can now do something fun and for the first time.  We present to you MileHigh Prep Reports Way to Early Football Rankings!  These are looking at what teams are returning from the previous season.  We won’t factor in coaching changes and players transferring (Mainly due to school year still going).  We will factor in players returning, how teams finished the season, and moving classifications.

6-Man

RankTeamNotes
#1Idalia

Defending State Champions
I am sure most people would agree with this pick.  Idalia will be the defending State Champions in 6-Man plus return many key pieces from their state championship run.  Idalia returns POY Gabe Kechter plus QB Broderick Kite.  Kolby Morris, Bode Monahan, and Hunter Drullinger also return for offensive weapons, but Idalia will lose a key piece on the offensive line.  Defensively, Idalia does lose two key players but will return 6 of their top 8 tacklers.
#2Peetz

Made the Playoffs, lost in the Semifinals
Peetz reached the Semifinals this past season falling to the eventual State Champions.  Peetz will look to build on the success of last season but do have holes to fill mainly at QB and WR offensively.  Peetz does return Dylan Wagner, Conner Schumacher, and Tanner Wood those three should continue to lead the offense.  Defensively Peetz returns 5 of their top 8 tacklers but will lose some key seniors from last season.
#3Caliche

Made the Playoffs, lost in the Quarterfinals
Caliche made it to the Quarterfinals last season falling to Stratton.  Caliche was a young team across the board last season and should build upon the success they had.  Offensively Caliche will have to replace a 2000 yards rusher but return key weapons in Brett Breidenbach, Mason Hernandez, and Avery Bell.  Defensively Caliche returns 6 of their top 8 tacklers, including 4 of their top 5.
#4Granada

Made the playoffs, lost in the First Round
Granada made the playoffs last season but fell in the first round to Sierra Grande.  Granada was also a young team a year ago led by a group of sophomores.  Granada will hope the younger kids take a big step forward.  Offensively Granada returns most of their offensive production in Sebastian Pizarro, Fernando Cadena, and Alejandro Perez.  Defensively, Granada also returns the core of the defense returning 6 of their top 8 tacklers including their top 3 from a season ago.
#5Otis

Made the playoffs, lost in the Quarterfinals
Otis reached the Quarterfinals last season before falling to Peetz in a thriller.  Otis will look to reload and make another deep run this year.  Otis offensively has holes to fill mainly at QB and their top rushers.  Otis will look for RB Cambric Klinzmann to take over as RB 1 and also Gracen Bechtle to fill in at QB.  Otis will need other playmakers to step up.  Defensively Otis returns their top 2 tacklers from last season but will be looking for other players to step up returning just 3 of their top 8 tacklers.
#6Fleming

Made the Playoffs, lost in the First Round
Fleming made the playoffs last season falling in the first round to Otis.  Fleming took big strides last season seeing new playmakers step up.  Fleming returns most of their offensive production from last season in Treyson Kirkwood, Dylon Monroe, Conner Marchant, and Jaron Monroe.  Defensively Fleming also returns most of the defensive playmakers returning 6 of their top 8 tacklers including 5 of their top 6.
#7Prairie

Made the playoffs lost in the First Round
Prairie made the playoffs last season falling in the first round to Cheyenne Wells.  Prairie will look for a deeper run this year and have the pieces back to do that.  Prairie will have a big piece to fill losing their RB 1- and 1000-yard rusher.  Prairie will look for Liam Bringelson, Derek Dollarschell, and Tatum Bailey to step up next season.  Defensively Prairie returns some key pieces but has some holes to fill.  Prairie returns 4 of their top 8 tacklers including 2 of their top 5.
#8Cheyenne Wells

Made the playoffs, lost in the Semifinals
Cheyenne Wells made the playoffs last season, falling in the Semifinals to Stratton.  Cheyenne Wells lost a good senior class taking with them their QB, top RB, top WR, and key defensive pieces.  Cheyenne Wells though will not have empty cupboards returning RB Trevin Smith and RB Caden Muth both will look to have breakout seasons as juniors.  Defensively Cheyenne Wells could have a top unit returning 6 of their top 8 tacklers including 4 of their top 6.
#9Branson/Kim

Made the Playoffs, lost in the Quarterfinals
Branson/Kim made the playoffs last season, falling in the Quarterfinals to Cheyenne Wells.  Branson/Kim will look to build on the success and have key weapons back.  Offensively Branson/Kim must replace their top RB from a season ago who had over 1500 yards of total offense.  Branson/Kim will look for QB Cooper Winter to take another step forward but also look for Acoya Bartlett, Collin Doherty, and Cash Neugebaurer to take steps forward next year.  Defensively Branson/Kim will take a hit by graduation losing 4 of their top 8 tacklers.  Branson/Kim will return 3 of their top 5 tacklers to be leaders next year.
#10Walsh

Made the playoffs, lost in the First Round
Walsh made the playoffs last year falling to Caliche in the first round.  Walsh had a turn around season last year getting into the playoffs and now they look to take the next step this year.  Offensively Walsh returns QB Hudson Gourley who is coming off a huge sophomore season.  Some new weapons must step up around him but look for Woodrow Wright, Beau Foster, and Grady Mundell to have big seasons next year.  Defensively Walsh should also improve returning 5 of their top 8 tacklers from a season ago including 3 of their top 5.
