We have just over one month left of regular season play and we wanted to update our League Predictions plus update our regional contenders. We will have the 32 teams we think make the playoffs plus We will also list the 3 to 6 players we think are in the hunt for the MHPR Player of the League as well. Remember this is all for fun and we are not cheering against any team.

3A/2A/1A Mile High

The Mile High League will get an automatic berth into regionals. Only the top team regardless of Class will get the automatic berth. Heritage Christian is my pick to win the Mile High League. Heritage Christian is 5-3 overall and 3-0 in league play. Heritage Christian started the year 0-3 losing to three straight ranked 3A opponents. Flatirons Academy, SkyView Academy, and Front Range Christian appear to be the main challengers to the League Title. Lyons, Clear Creek, Union Colony Prep, Belleview Christian, Dayspring Christian, and Denver Academy could all be regional contenders in their respective Classes.

The 2A Southern Peaks will get an automatic berth into regionals since they have over 5 teams. Sanford is my pick to win the Southern Peaks League. They are currently 11-1 and just suffered an upset loss to Custer County. Sanford has other quality wins on the season hence why they are my pick. Center is the main challenger for the League Title. Center has played well so far and could push for the league title. Sargent, Trinidad, Del Norte, and Crested Butte are all regional contenders currently.

The 2A Santa Fe League will get an automatic berth into regionals this year because they have over 5 teams in the league. The Santa Fe League could be very competitive were 6 if not 7 teams are pushing for a regional spot.
Las Animas is my pick to win the Santa Fe League. Las Animas picked up a huge win over Swallows Charter and could set them up to win the league title. Swallows Charter, Fowler, Hoehne, and Crowley County are the main contenders for the league title and regional contenders.

The 2A/1A Lower Platte will get a automatic berth into regionals because they have more than 5 teams. The 2A/1A Lower Platte could be very competitive this season as all 6 teams in the League will be in the mix for the league title and a spot at regionals. Haxtun is my pick to win the Lower Platte League. Haxtun is currently 7-5 and have not strung together a lot of wins but have played a tough schedule to start the year. After Haxtun I think it could be anyone to finish in second or challenge for the league crown. Merino, Holyoke, Sedgwick County, Akron, and Caliche will all take their shot at the league leader and all are regional contenders.

Twin Peaks Classical is currently 10-0 and took the first game from Golden View Classical but was a non-league game. Golden View Classical and Addenbrooke Classical appear to be the main challengers for the league title. Loveland Classical and William Smith are the other regional contenders.

Plateau Valley is my pick to win the Western Slope League. Plateau Valley has started strong this season at 7-3 and all three losses have come to 3A opponents. Vail Christian, Caprock Academy, and De Beque could all challenge for the league title and are regional contenders. Rangely, Vail Mountain, and Hayden could be regional contenders if they can catch a hot streak.

The 2A/1A Union Pacific will get an automatic berth into regionals. Only the top team regardless of Class will get the automatic berth. Stratton is my pick to win the Union Pacific League. Stratton looks poised to contend for a State Championship. Stratton is 7-2 on the season with neither lose coming to an in-state opponent and Stratton picked up a huge win over Cheyenne Wells. Byers and Limon look to be the main contenders for the league title and are regional if not state tournament contenders. Flagler is the other regional contender and look to be in contention.

The San Juan League could be very competitive this season with possibly 5 teams fighting for a regional spot. Nucla is my pick to win the San Juan League. Nucla is undefeated currently and 2-0 in league play. Nucla has a huge non-league game against Plateau Valley tonight. Telluride, Dolores, and Ouray look to be the main challengers for the league title. Ridgway is a regional contender.

Simla has played a tough schedule so far this season but sit at 4-3 overall. I don’t know if they get challenged for the league crown. Liberty Tree is the main league title contender and the only other regional contender from the Black Forest League.
