4. Center (15)
5. Trinidad (27)
6. Crested Butte (28)
The 2A Southern Peaks will get an automatic berth into regionals since they have over 5 teams. The SPL should be very competitive this season with all 6 teams being regional contenders and possibly a pair of state tournament teams. Sanford is my pick to win the Southern Peaks League. Sanford is currently 12-0 overall and have played just one league game a win over Crested Butte. Sargent looks to be the main challenger to the League Crown. Sargent sits at 9-1 with their lone loss coming to 3A Centauri before break. 7. Rocky Ford (49)
8. Walsenburg (50)
The 2A Santa Fe League will get an automatic berth into regionals this year because they have over 5 teams in the league. Swink is my pick to win the league title. Swink is 1-0 in league play so far with a 6-4 overall record. Swink gets my nod for the league crown picking up a few key wins in the non-league schedule. Las Animas, Crowley County, and Hoehne look to be the main challengers for the league crown. All 3 are perfect in league play so far and look to get the automatic berth. Fowler is the lone regional contender from outside the top 4. Fowler will need to probably upset one of the top 4 to get into regionals.

The 2A/1A Lower Platte will get a automatic berth into regionals because they have more than 5 teams. The 2A/1A Lower Platte could be very competitive this season as 5 of the 6 teams are regional contenders and 4 of the teams could be state tournament contenders. Merino is my pick to win the Lower Platte League. Merino is off to a perfect start at 10-0 and have played a tough schedule and picked up key wins. Merino so far has had no opponents keep it under 10 points. Akron, Caliche, and Sedgwick County look to be the main league title contenders but also regional and state tournament contenders. 7. Deer Trail (1A 26)
The 2A/1A Union Pacific will get an automatic berth into regionals. Only the top team regardless of Class will get the automatic berth. The Union Pacific League could be very competitive this year with all teams being regional contenders and a few state tournament contenders. Stratton is my pick to win the Union Pacific League. Stratton currently is 6-3 overall and have played a very tough schedule. All three of Stratton’s loses are quality loses to Syracuse KS, 2A Holyoke, and 2A Merino. Burlington, Byers, Flagler, and Genoa-Hugo look to be the main contenders for the league title. They also will be in the mix for regionals, and a few could push for the state tournament. 3. Ridgway (24)
4. Dolores (44)
5. Mancos (43)
6. Ouray (1A 44)
7. Telluride (3A
The 3A/2A/1A San Juan League will get an automatic berth into regionals. Only the top team regardless of Class will get the automatic berth. Nucla is my pick to win the San Juan League. Nucla is poised to make a push for the State Tournament. They are perfect on the season at 11-0 but have a huge game tonight against 2A Plateau Valley. Dove Creek looks to be the main challenger for the league crown. Dove Creek has already lost two non-league games to Nucla but it’s always tough to beat a team three times in a season. Ridgway currently is the only other team in regional contention currently. Dolores and Mancos both are outside the top 42.
My predictions for San Juan
League Champion: Nucla
Regional Contenders: Nucla, Dove Creek, Ridgway

The 2A Black Forest will get an automatic berth into regionals due to having more than 5 teams. Simla is my pick to win the 2A Black Forest League. Simla looks poised to make a push for the State Tournament and make a deep run. Simla is currently 6-0 to start the year. Calhan will be the main challenger for the league title. Calhan started the year perfect but fell in back to back games. Look for them to bounce back. Currently no other regional contenders have emerged as only Kiowa sits inside the top 42 at #42.
