Week 6 Recap

2026 Top of the Rockies

Eaton led all 3A teams with a champion in freshman Parker Wickam at 132 and two more solid placers, showing the kind of young core that can swing things later in the season. Brush delivered the most firepower, going two‑for‑two in the finals with Austin Ley (175) and Ritchie Bruno (190) both controlling their brackets.

Jefferson’s senior hammer Isaiah Gallegos continued his dominant run with another title at 150, while Fort Lupton and Fort Morgan each placed a key upper‑weight contributor. Pagosa Springs and Platte Valley added mid‑bracket points, and Abraham Lincoln picked up a strong 3rd from veteran Jordan Romero at 126.

Survivor Series

Bennett and Mullen were the heavy hitters of 3A at this tournament, combining for five individual titles and consistently placing wrestlers deep into the bracket. Bennett’s upper‑weight duo of Caycen Scholz (132) and Mormon Jordan (144) looked sharp, while Mullen’s lightweights — Alvarado (106) and Martinez (113) — set the tone early.

Strasburg didn’t produce a champion but showed grit with podium finishes from Uvaldo Lopez (106) and Reagan Rosier (138), plus a strong runner‑up from Juan Fernandez (215).

2026 Skyview Invitational

Skyview delivered the strongest performance of 3A, powered by titles from Andrew Pedregon (106) and Juan Vigil (215), plus two more finalists. Their top‑end talent and bonus‑point production made them the most efficient team in your group.

Salida continued its upward trend with a dominant championship from Samuel Johnson (157) and two more podium finishes, showing they can compete with much larger programs. University didn’t have the depth this time but still produced two high‑quality placers, including a runner‑up finish from veteran Ayden Arellano (120).

Florence brought numbers and toughness, placing four wrestlers, all in the top four, but couldn’t quite break through for a finalist.

50th Annual Alameda International Invitational

Weld Central and Gunnison were the undeniable anchors of 3A teams, combining for five individual titles and a pile of bonus‑point wins. Weld Central’s upper‑weights, Kitzman (150), Ontiveros (157), and Ellerman (165), were especially dominant, each winning with authority.

Gunnison countered with its own trio of champions: Zayne Benson (106), Julian Patrick (138), and Zach Benson (144), plus multiple finalists. Their light‑to‑middle weights continue to be one of the most reliable scoring units in the state.

Alameda had a strong showing behind Hamid Hashimi’s title at 120 and two more finalists, while Jefferson brought depth with five placers, even without a finalist.
