Boys Basketball Class 2A Regional Projections & Bubble Watch Week 9
Remember to qualify for Regionals you must be ranked inside the top 32 or win your League (If you have 5 or more teams). This week we breakdown the race to host plus the teams sitting on the bubble. We will do this for every class. At the end I pick the 8 teams I think make it to state based on my projections. These are very projections, expect big changes.

Class 1A
- League Champions earn an automatic berth in the playoffs as long as they win their league outright. Each league must have a minimum of 5 teams in it for an automatic berth.
- Seeding Criteria for the 32-team state bracket-CHSAA Seeding & Selection Index published after the regular season. Seeds 9-16 are true seeded except to try and avoid league matchups in the First Round Only. Teams may be moved one spot up or down. Seeds 17-32 may be moved up to two spots based upon geography & League matchups.
- First Two Rounds of the state tournament (Regionals) will be hosted by the top seed in that quadrant of the bracket, over two days. (4-teams total).
- Top 8 teams will advance through the bracket. The bracket Will Not be reseeded before State. Class 2A Great 8 will play a full consolation bracket.

The race for a regional host spot in Class 2A Boys is not much of a race at all. #8 Vail Christian is at .843 and #9 Haxtun sits at .763 and Merino at #10 is at .737. Unless Vail Christian or Front Range Christian take a big upset we are nearly locked into the top 8 teams for Class 2A Boys. I will say this Front Range Christian must still face 3A Clear Creek (tonight), Addenbrooke Classical, Heritage Christan, and Flatirons Academy. They play three of those games this week. If they go 0-3 this week we could be having a different discussion next week between them and the #9 and #10 teams.
First Four Out & Bubble Watch
Sedgwick County (33), Crested Butte (34), Sargent (35), Del Norte (36)
The bubble in Class 2A Boys is not as wide open as in the girls. #27 Dolores is at .512 and are a long way from #32 Ridgway at .465. I would say teams inside the top 26 are in very good shape to reach regionals and the bubble will focus more on teams sitting #29 thru #36. Vanguard Classical and Ridgway are just ahead of #33 Sedgwick County and #34 Crested Butte. These four teams look to be the teams to watch in the final three weeks of the season.
Bracket- League matchups will be avoided in the first round only. 8 Regional winners qualifying for state. State will not be re-seeded! And play a consolation bracket!
