Girls Basketball Class 3A Regional Projections & Bubble Watch Week 9

Remember to qualify for Regionals you must be ranked inside the top 32 or win your League (If you have 5 or more teams). This week we breakdown the race to host plus the teams sitting on the bubble. Class 3A

League Champions earn an automatic berth in the playoffs as long as they win their league outright. Each league must have a minimum of 5 teams in it for an automatic berth.
Seeding Criteria for the 32-team state bracket-CHSAA Seeding & Selection Index published after the regular season. Seeds 9-16 are true seeded except to try and avoid league matchups in the First Round Only. Teams may be moved one spot up or down. Seeds 17-32 may be moved up to two spots based upon geography & League matchups.
First Two Rounds of the state tournament (Regionals) will be hosted by the top seed in that quadrant of the bracket, over two days. (4-teams total).
Top 8 teams will advance through the bracket. The bracket Will Not be reseeded before State. Class 3A Great 8 will play a Modified consolation bracket. Teams losing on Thursday will not advance to Friday.

3A Black Forest League: Thomas MacLaren (Will not Automatically Qualify)

3A Western Slope: Roaring Fork (Meeker & North Fork Tied, could end in a tie)

3A Patriot League: Yuma

Class 3A Girls looks to be one of the better battles for a top 8 seed out of all the smaller classifications. You can still see plenty of movement in the top 6 as they battle for the top seeds in the Class. #7 thru #12 are all very close as well. Thomas MacLaren is at #7 and sit at .891 and #12 Meeker is at .824 which is just .064 behind them. Many of the games will be important down the stretch with a big one between North Fork and Meeker next week.

First Four Out

Platte Canyon (33), Florence (34), Grand Valley (35), Olathe (36)

Really it looks to be just a three-team race for the final spot for regionals. Windsor Charter sits at #32 and they are at .494. Liberty Common who is at #31 is at .521 and that is a decent lead avoiding any bad loses. Windsor Charter, Platte Canyon and Florence look to be the teams to watch for that final spot. Platte Canyon is just .013 behind Windsor Charter. Grand Valley at #35 and Olathe at #36 are both below .395 and will need a big win to get themselves into contention.

Bracket- League matchups will be avoided in the first round only. 8 Regional winners qualifying for state. State will not be re-seeded! And play a Modified consolation bracket!
