Boys Basketball Class 3A Regional Projections & Bubble Watch Week 11

Remember to qualify for Regionals you must be ranked inside the top 32 or win your League (If you have 5 or more teams). This week we breakdown the race to host plus the teams sitting on the bubble. Class 3A

League Champions earn an automatic berth in the playoffs as long as they win their league outright. Each league must have a minimum of 5 teams in it for an automatic berth.
Seeding Criteria for the 32-team state bracket-CHSAA Seeding & Selection Index published after the regular season. Seeds 9-16 are true seeded except to try and avoid league matchups in the First Round Only. Teams may be moved one spot up or down. Seeds 17-32 may be moved up to two spots based upon geography & League matchups.
First Two Rounds of the state tournament (Regionals) will be hosted by the top seed in that quadrant of the bracket, over two days. (4-teams total).
Top 8 teams will advance through the bracket. The bracket Will Not be reseeded before State. Class 3A Great 8 will play a Modified consolation bracket. Teams losing on Thursday will not advance to Friday.

3A/2A Foothills League: 2A Team (Golden View Classical)

3A Black Forest League: Peyton (Will not Automatically Qualify)

3A Western Slope: Roaring Fork

3A Patriot League: Strasburg

Class 3A Boys nearly has the top 8 locked up for Regionals but Wiggins upset win over Yuma has propelled them into the mix. #8 Roaring Fork has a .005 lead over #9 Wiggins. Roaring Fork also has three games remaining against Cedaredge, Grand Valley, and Gunnison and I will say none of those 3 games will help Roaring Fork stay ahead of Wiggins. Wiggins has a game against Eaton and possibly one more game remaining. Wiggins with a win over Eaton would jump into the top 8 but a loss still gives them a shot and will depend if they have one final game remaining.

First Four Out

Salida (33), Bruce Randolph (34), Platte Canyon (35), Ignacio (36)

The race for the final spot in the playoffs should be a good one. #32 Manual is at .505 and will be looking to hold off the four teams chasing them. Salida looks to be the main threat to the top 32. Manual has one final game remaining against DSST-College View (11-11) and is probably a must win over Manual to hold off the teams chasing them. Salida has two games remaining the first against Vanguard, Bruce Randolph has 1 game remaining against Pinnacle, Platte Canyon has two games remaining against The Academy & Jefferson Academy, and Ignacio has one game remaining against Monte Vista. Winning out will be key for all the teams mentioned to get in or hold onto a spot.

Bracket- League matchups will be avoided in the first round only. 8 Regional winners qualifying for state. State will not be re-seeded! And play a Modified consolation bracket!
