Girls Basketball Class 3A Regional Projections & Bubble Watch Week 11

Remember to qualify for Regionals you must be ranked inside the top 32 or win your League (If you have 5 or more teams). This week we breakdown the race to host plus the teams sitting on the bubble. Class 3A

League Champions earn an automatic berth in the playoffs as long as they win their league outright. Each league must have a minimum of 5 teams in it for an automatic berth.
Seeding Criteria for the 32-team state bracket-CHSAA Seeding & Selection Index published after the regular season. Seeds 9-16 are true seeded except to try and avoid league matchups in the First Round Only. Teams may be moved one spot up or down. Seeds 17-32 may be moved up to two spots based upon geography & League matchups.
First Two Rounds of the state tournament (Regionals) will be hosted by the top seed in that quadrant of the bracket, over two days. (4-teams total).
Top 8 teams will advance through the bracket. The bracket Will Not be reseeded before State. Class 3A Great 8 will play a Modified consolation bracket. Teams losing on Thursday will not advance to Friday.

3A Black Forest League: Thomas MacLaren (Will not Automatically Qualify)

3A Western Slope: Roaring Fork (North Fork Tied, could end in a tie)

3A Patriot League: Yuma

Class 3A Girls look to all but be sorted out for the top 8 seeds. Roaring Fork still has a shot at the #8 spot they are .008 behind Thomas MacLaren who has finished playing games for the year. Roaring Fork has games against Cedaredge, Grand Valley, and Gunnison. The Cedaredge game is the one to watch as a win there could boost them closer or pass Thomas MacLaren. Thomas MacLaren has finished playing games for the year so they wait and see what see they get.

First Four Out

Liberty Common (33), Grand Valley (34), Florence (35), Olathe (36)

Looks like just one team of the Four First Four out has any shot at getting into the top 32. Liberty Common sits at .45584 and #32 Rye is at .458317. Rye has two remaining games, I believe with the first being a must win against Florence on 2/27. Liberty Common has one last game remaining against 4A Fort Morgan (11-11). I do believe if Liberty Common gets a win over Fort Morgan it could be enough to jump Rye the question would be can Rye wins in there last two games keep them ahead of Liberty Common.

Bracket- League matchups will be avoided in the first round only. 8 Regional winners qualifying for state. State will not be re-seeded! And play a Modified consolation bracket!
