Class 2A Boys & Girls Basketball Regional Projections Week 11

Remember to qualify for Regionals you must be ranked inside the top 32 or win your League (If you have 5 or more teams). This week we breakdown the race to host plus the teams sitting on the bubble. We will do this for every class. At the end I pick the 8 teams I think make it to state based on my projections. Final Two Weeks of Regular Season Action!

Class 2A

League Champions earn an automatic berth in the playoffs as long as they win their league outright. Each league must have a minimum of 5 teams in it for an automatic berth.
Seeding Criteria for the 32-team state bracket-CHSAA Seeding & Selection Index published after the regular season. Seeds 9-16 are true seeded except to try and avoid league matchups in the First Round Only. Teams may be moved one spot up or down. Seeds 17-32 may be moved up to two spots based upon geography & League matchups.
First Two Rounds of the state tournament (Regionals) will be hosted by the top seed in that quadrant of the bracket, over two days. (4-teams total).
Top 8 teams will advance through the bracket. The bracket Will Not be reseeded before State. Class 2A Great 8 will play a full consolation bracket.

Class 2A Girls

First Four Out & Bubble Watch

Crested Butte (33), Twin Peaks Classical (34), Custer County (35), Crowley County (36)

Golden View Classical still holds onto the #32 spot and sit at .4917 and have not games remaining. #33 Crested Butte sits at .4844 and have one game remaining against Trinidad. #34 Twin Peaks Classical is at .4805 and have no games remaining. #35 Custer County sits at .472 and face 1A Creede in their final game and #36 Crowley County sits at .466 and face Hoehne and one other opponent in the Santa Fe League Tournament. Still a lot to play for and a lot of game remain for the bubble teams.

Bracket- League matchups will be avoided in the first round only. 8 Regional winners qualifying for state. State will not be re-seeded! And play a consolation bracket!

Note: You can move teams for geography considerations & to avoid league/district matchups in the first round! Remember 17-32 can be moved 2 spots at max. A lot could still change mainly if Campion Academy or Vanguard Classical decide not participate in Post-season play they are eligible too but could elect not too.

Note: Burlington lost to Limon the current Seeding Index has them drop to #18 but that is only the RPI update the MaxPreps Rankings will have them drop lower. If it’s a significant change Saturday AM I will update all Projections.

Class 2A Boys

First Four Out & Bubble Watch

Crested Butte (33), Liberty Tree (34), Del Norte (35), Sargent (36)

The bubble in Class 2A Boys bubble was about completed but a big upset last night may have opened it a bit. Loveland Classical flew down the rankings after falling to Flagler. #32 Loveland Classical is now sitting at .4732 with #33 Crested Butte at .4626. Loveland Classical has completed their games for the regular season and Crested Butte still has one game against Center remaining tomorrow. A win by Crested Butte over Center could be enough especially since Center is sitting inside the top 20. #31 Ridgway also could still fall out of the top 32 if they don’t defeat Dove Creek tonight.
