Class 3A Boys State Tournament Predictions
We are a few days from the State Tournament kicking off. We will have predictions out Today and Tomorrow. I will give my predictions for all 4 Classes boys and girls. Wednesday we will preview Class 1A thru 3A Boys & Girls. If you would like to share your predictions, I would love to see everyone’s thoughts. Also, remember we are not cheering against any team, this is something we have done since we started the website, and we are wrong all the time!
Class 3A Boys State Tournament Predictions
Elite 8 Predictions
#1 Strasburg over #9 Wiggins 3rd Best Matchup of the Elite 8
This is not a typical #1 vs #9 matchup as both teams are talented teams and highly tested this year. Both teams competed in the Patriot League, and the Patriot league alone had 4 teams reach the Elite 8 in Class 3A. Strasburg defeated Wiggins 87-43 back in January but expect a closer matchup this time around.
#13 C.S Christian over #12 St. Mary’s 2nd Best Matchup of the Elite 8
Another rematch in the Elite 8 see two Tri-Peaks League teams square off. The Tri-Peaks league had 3 teams reach the Elite 8 a good showing for the league. C.S Christian and St. Mary’s split during the regular season with C.S Christian defeating St. Mary’s 76-59 in January and St. Mary’s defeating C.S Christian 65-60 in February. Expect a great matchup again this time around.
#2 Forge Christian over #7 Windsor Charter
Forge Christian is the lone outlier in the Elite 8 coming from the Metro League granted most of that league competes in 4A and had a great showing in the 4A Rankings. Forge Christian did not face Windsor Charter during the regular season but Forge Christian did not lose to a 3A team this year. Windsor Charter is battle tested coming from the Patriot League and they will look to take out the #2 seed.
#3 Banning Lewis over #6 Resurrection Christian Best Matchup of the Elite 8
In my opinion this is the best matchup of the opening round. Two teams with high expectation this year and one will advance and the other will go home. Early in the season Banning Lewis looked nearly unstoppable winning their first 9 games by 20+ points. Banning Lewis towards the end of the year lost to Lamar and C.S Christian plus had to go to OT against SkyView Academy in the regional finals. Resurrection Christian ended the year on a high note defeating Yuma and 4A University plus took care of both regional opponents by 15+ points.

I think we are in for some AMAZING games In the Class 3A. I think the 8 teams who reached the state tournament all have a different scenario on how they can hoist the State Championship. I am very excited to see how everything boils down and I could easily see myself being way wrong, but I am excited for 3 great days of basketball.
