Class 2A Boys State Tournament Predictions
We are a few days from the State Tournament kicking off. We will have predictions out Today, Tomorrow and Wednesday. I will give my predictions for all 4 Classes boys and girls. Wednesday we will preview Class 1A thru 3A Boys & Girls. If you would like to share your predictions, I would love to see everyone’s thoughts. Also, remember we are not cheering against any team, this is something we have done since we started the website, and we are wrong all the time!
Class 2A Boys State Tournament Predictions
Elite 8 Predictions
#1 Sanford over #9 Limon 2nd Best Matchup of the Elite 8
Not a typical #1 vs #8 matchup. Both teams are perennial state tournament teams, and both teams come in with plenty of talent. I personally feel Limon should be a higher seed, but we are treated with a great matchup. Sanford has just one loss to Custer County which they avenged later in the year. Sanford played well against an improved Center team in the regional finals. Limon finally got past Merino in the regional finals. Merino had beat Limon the previous two matchups but Limon got the one to move onto the state tournament.
#13 Plateau Valley over #5 Golden View Classical Best Matchup of the Elite 8
The best game of the opening round. Golden View Classical was able to defend their host spot defeating both Sedgwick County and Front Range Christian. Golden View Classical will look to lean on their tournament experience of last season. Plateau Valley hit the road for their regional final and they were tasked with defeating a red hot #29 Akron team who had upset Twin Peaks Classical the night before. Plateau Valley and Akron came down to Double OT and a buzzer beat to get our winner.
#2 Simla over #7 Vail Christian
Simla looks to defend their state championship and will begin their journey against Vail Christian. Simla has won 6 straight games including two big performances against Belleview Christian & Caprock Academy. Simla has been dominate during the 6-game winning streak. Vail Chrisitan vs Haxtun in the regional finals was an amazing game. Vail Christian played well and has some momentum heading into the state tournament.
#6 Byers over #3 Heritage Christian 3rd Best Matchup of the Elite 8
This looks to be another great matchup in the Elite 8. Heritage Christian flew thru regional beating Campion Academy in the regional finals 57-34. Heritage Christian faced Byers back in Mid-February falling to Byers 57-44. Byers looks to be back on track and playing good basketball. Byers won their regional picking up a pair of 28+ point wins.

#1 Sanford over #13 Plateau Valley
#2 Simla over #6 Byers

#2 Simla over #1 Sanford (State Championship)

I think we are in for some AMAZING games In the Class 1A. I can easily make a case for 6 of the 8 teams to win a state championship and even then, I think all 8 teams are well rounded and will make for some competitive games. I am very excited to see how everything boils down and I could easily see myself being way wrong, but I am excited for 3 great days of basketball.
