Class 3A Regional Volleyball Predictions
Here are my Predictions on who is going to win the 12 regionals taking place this weekend. I will give a quick breakdown of why I am picking each team to win. Full Preview of the Class 3A Regional will be posted later in the week.
Region 1
Winner: University
University has been my #1 team all season and they have proven beating other top teams like Resurrection Christian, Sterling, and Eaton. The lone 3A loss for University is Village.
Region 2
Winner: Resurrection Christian
Resurrection Christian is once again a top team in 3A. They dominated nearly every 3A team they played besides their loss to University. Resurrection Christian did end the season losing three straight to top 4A opponents.
Region 3
Winner: Holy Family
Holy Family first year in Class 3A has been very successful so far. They have played extremely well playing a 4A/5A schedule with both in state loses to 4A team. Key 3A wins for Holy Family are Alamosa, Stargate School, and Jefferson Academy.
Region 4
Winner: Classical Academy
Classical Academy changed leagues and found plenty of success in that new league. TCA did not defeat the other top teams in 3A losing to University, Rez Christian, and Forge Christian. TCA did get solids wins over 4A Niwot, Village, and 4A Mead.
Region 5
Winner: Sterling
Sterling has been a top team all season in Class 3A with key wins over Platte Valley, Sargent, Merino, and Berthoud. Against the top teams Sterling did not defeat University, Rez, and Eaton.
Region 6
Winner: Forge Christian
Forge Christian started the year playing one of the toughest schedules falling to Rez Christian, University, Holy Family, and Timnath. Since those losses they have played much better defeating TCA, Platte Valley, Jefferson Academy, Village, and Peak to Peak.
Region 7
Winner: Alamosa
Alamosa dominated their league schedule and then continued to have a top program in Class 3A. Alamosa has solid loses to Denver South, Holy Family, Garden City KS, and Montrose. Alamosa does have plenty of key wins including wins over Centauri, Middle Park, Durango, Village, Platte Valley, and Grandview.
Region 8
Winner: Eaton
The defending State Champs are a top 8 seed and will look to defend their title. Eaton ended the year picking up a few big wins over Palisade, Aspen, and Windsor Charter. Eaton did not defeat Rez Christian, Berthoud, and University.
Region 9
Winner: Berthoud
Berthoud first year in Class 3A has been successful and they will look to try and make a run in the playoffs. Berthoud ended the year winning 5 of their last 6 games. Berthoud did not defeat University or Rez Christian but did get solid wins over Windsor Charter, Eaton, and Timnath.
Region 10
Winner: Platte Valley
Platte Valley ended the year winning 4 of their last 5 games including a key win over Stargate School. Platte Valley did not beat the top teams in the Patriot League but key wins over Mead and Windsor Charter helped propel them to a host spot.
Region 11
Winner: Aspen
Aspen dominated Western Slope League action only dropping two sets all year to league opponents. Aspen did get pushed by 2A Vail Christian which went 5 sets. Aspen two loses were to Eaton (3-0) and Battle Mountain (2-0)
Region 12
Winner: Village
Village always seems to turn it up once the playoffs get here and once again, they are doing that. Village got a huge win over University two weeks ago and shown they can still be a top contender.
