First, this is just my opinion. I would love to hear or see your thoughts on how the 2A State Championship turns out. Second, Good Luck to all teams! I do not cheer against any teams. A Full Preview of all matchups will be posted later today.
Class 2A Playoff Predictions Second Round Only
#1 Elizabeth over #16 Weld Central
Elizabeth had a bye in the first round. Weld Central is coming off a fun close game over Aspen. Can the momentum carry them forward.
#2 Classical Academy over #15 Coal Ridge
TCA had a bye in the first round. Coal Ridge had an explosive second half against Resurrection Christian and walked away with the win. If they can keep momentum going they could push TCA.
#3 Wellington over #19 Pagosa Springs
Wellington had a bye in the first round. Pagosa Springs was the only team to pull an upset in the opening round. They will not face a very physical team in round two and will also need their rushing attack to play well.
#4 Delta over #13 University
Delta had a bye in the first round. University played extremely well defensively holding Denver West to just 3 points. University also scored in every quarter and will have to bring it defensively again this week.
#5 Eaton over #12 Strasburg
Eaton had a bye in the first round. Strasburg had an explosive second half. It was 14 to 7 at halftime before Strasburg outscored Fort Lupton 42 to 15.
#6 La Junta over #11 Basalt
La Junta had a bye in the first round. Basalt dominated in their win over Florence. They played well in the first round and will have to be ready to play physical against La Junta.
#7 Brush over #10 Lamar
Brush had a bye in the first round. A 40+ yard field goal was the difference in the game. Lamar had a few injuries and how can they bounce back after a tight win over the #23 seeded Prospect Ridge.
#8 Alamosa over #9 Forge Christian
Alamosa had a bye in the first round. Forge Christian dominated defensively forcing the shutout. Forge Christian used a strong defensive effort plus a 27 point second half to advance to the second round.
