How Class 1A Playoff Works

1. Each district qualifies one team to the regional tournament, with the remaining 4 teams determined by RPI. The teams will be seeded to the 8-team bracket by RPI, avoiding district match-ups when possible.

Regional/State Qualifiers and Possible Bracket

I am using my predictions to pick the Regional Field.  All District Champions are picked from my predictions made yesterday.  The RPI used is from 5/3/2018 and using that to seed the Regional Bracket.  I will update my Playoff Breakdown on 5/5 to use the Current RPI Standings and we will have are District Champions.  I am going out of order this week and posting 1A Playoff Breakdowns, then 2A, and then 3A on Friday.

Note:

The bracket is set by using the RPI released on 5/3.  I do think that if Caliche wins their District their RPI will improve big time and could see them jumping up into the Top 5 maybe higher.  Stratton/Liberty and Longmont Christian play each other in the first round of District and the loser could be in a little bit of trouble and make the Consolation game a must win for the loser.  A ton is still in the air for a lot of teams and good showings in the District tournaments is a must.  Dove Creek only gets into Regionals by winning their district and Caliche has to at least win their first game.  Cornerstone Christian is probably the only team who can lose in the first round of District and the consolation game and still get into regionals.
