MileHigh Prep Report Way to Early 6-Man Football Top 5 and Teams to Watch

Last year’s Football season was very interesting.  Limited number of games and playoff teams made things interesting.    6-Man this season looks to be very competitive with a lot of teams returning talent.  Should be a fun year in the 6-Man ranks.  What I am planning on doing is ranking my Top 5 and then listing between 8 to 10 teams to watch for outside the top 5.  This is a very early look and when I kick up full articles again at the end of July, I will dive much deeper into each Class.

6-Man

RankTeamNotes
#1Granada    Made the Playoffs, lost in the SemifinalsGranada was the runner up a season ago going 6-2.  Both loses were to eventual state champions Fleming and Granada played them tough both times.  Granada is loaded from top to bottom this season with just 1 senior graduating.  QB Dominic Coleman is back along with RB John Hainer.  Defensively Granada should also be tough with 7 of their top 8 tacklers back.
#2Stratton   Made the playoffs, Runner upStratton/Liberty exists no more and will just be Stratton next season.  I am not 100% which players will be with each team.  Stratton though could be loaded for another deep run.  Stratton returns QB Charlie Tagtmeyer, along with their top 2 RBs in Alex Cruz and Charlie Clapper.  Defensively Stratton returns 7 of their top 8 tacklers and this team will be very tough.  If anyone knows more info on who is playing where let me know.
#3Cheyenne Wells   Made the playoffs, lost in the SemifinalsCheyenne Wells went 6-1 last season falling in the semifinals to Stratton/Liberty.  Cheyenne Wells will be loaded once again this season and could be even tough with a key injured player coming back.  Cheyenne Wells returns their back up QB Blake Gilmore, along with top RB’s Evan Worley and Rogelio Rangel along with Cade Mitchek who was injured most of last season.  Defensively Cheyenne Wells will be returning 7 of their top 8 tacklers and this team will be a huge threat.
#4Fleming   Defending State ChampionsFleming is your defending State Champions.  Fleming, I think is still a big threat but have 5 seniors to replace.  Fleming offensively will return their #3 and #4 RB’s Nolan Japp and Blake Feather.  These two must anchor a young offensive team.  Fleming defensively also returns 4 of their top 8 tacklers.  This team could struggle early on, but I expect them to still be a big threat.
#5Prairie Made the playoffs, lost in the first roundPrairie reached the playoffs a year ago going 5-2.  Prairie is well loaded for another deep run with QB Andy Long returning and #2 RB Claytin Hove.  Prairie offensively will be tough and should be a high scoring unit.  Defensively Prairie has a few holes to fill with 5 of their top 8 tacklers returning but lose key leaders.
Others to Watch For(not in order)
Kit Carson   Made the Playoffs, lost in the first roundKit Carson went 3-2 last season but reached the playoffs.  Kit Carson was a young team a season ago but return a lot of talent this year.  Kit Carson returns QB Brett Mayhan as well as #2 RB Paul Mitchek.  Kit Carson lose just 1 senior from a year ago and defensively return 7 of their top 8 tacklers.  Kit Carson gained valuable experience last season.
Cheraw   Missed the playoffs, went 4-2Cheraw missed the playoffs a season ago but had success going 4-2.  Cheraw barely missed out on the playoffs a year ago and will be looking for a deep playoff run this season.  Offensively Cheraw returns QB Cade Phillips along with RB Braeden Harris.  The WR unit has hit by graduation so that is a concern for a high-flying offense.  Defensively Cheraw returns 6 of their top 8 tacklers but lose their defensive leaders from last season.
Branson/Kim   Missed the playoffs, went 4-3Branson/Kim missed the playoffs a season ago but went 4-3 and gained valuable experience for a young team.  Branson/Kim this year returns QB Brody Doherty and their top RB’s from a year ago Peyton Cranson and Brock Doherty.  Branson/Kim defensively return 7 of their top 8 tacklers.  Branson/Kim a season ago was young and look out for this team this season.
Idalia   Missed the playoffs, went 2-2Idalia missed the playoffs a season ago and had their season cut short playing just 4 games.  Idalia in those 4 games did gain valuable experience for a team losing 0 seniors.  Idalia returns QB Eduardo Estrada and RB’s Yahir Enriquez and Kye Towns.  Defensively they return all their starters and this unit should be much improved this season.
Briggsdale     Made the playoffs, lost in the first roundBriggsdale made the playoffs a year ago going 4-3.  Briggsdale returns a very talented offensive unit with QB Braden Krise leading the way.  RB Malik Carlson and top target Tanner Fiscus also return to lead a dangerous offensive unit.  Defensively Briggsdale returns 5 of their top 8 tacklers but have a few holes to fill.  Briggsdale should be a team to reach the playoffs again this year.
North Park   Missed the playoffs, went 3-3North Park missed the playoffs a year ago going 3-3 but rebuilding a young team.  North Park returns QB Hunter Sessions along with top RB Evan Pieper.  Defensively North Park should improve returning 7 of their top 8 tacklers.  North Park played a lot of young players a season ago, but this season should be well experience and look for a playoff berth.
Arickaree/Woodlin   Missed the playoffs, went 4-3Arickaree/Woodlin missed the playoffs a year ago but went 4-3 and gained valuable experience for a young team.  Arickaree/Woodlin lose just 1 senior from a year ago and will be loaded for a deep run.  Arickaree/Woodlin return QB Logan Wright along with top 2 RB’s Samuel Koolstra and Angel Servin.  Defensively Arickaree/Woodlin returns 7 of their top 8 tacklers.  Look for this team to make a push for a playoff spot.
Eads   Made the playoffs, went 3-3Eads made the playoffs a year ago falling in the first round.  Eads had a few injuries that hurt them a season ago but should help them this year giving experience to younger players.  Eads returns QB Cade McDowell and #2 RB Porter Spady.  These two will look to anchor a young offense.  Eads defensively returns 5 of their top 8 tacklers but lose their defensive leaders.  Eads will be young this season, but I think still a threat for the playoffs.
