I am going with Eaton over University. Eaton defeated University during the regular season 27 to 20 and this was a tight game. This was one of the closest games Eaton played this season and the most points Eaton gave up on defense. University will be looking to keep their defense playing outstanding. Offensively University must continue to get big games from QB Greg Garza. Eaton defensively must focus on limiting the QB. Offensively Eaton must continue to run the ball effectively and limit the turnovers. I am going with Eaton over University. I think defensively Eaton has the edge and that seems to be the difference in the playoffs this year. University defensively will keep themselves in this game as well and could make for an interesting game. I think we are looking at another tight game this week.
#7 Brush over #6 Severance
Severance moved into the Semifinals with a 37-21 upset of Classical Academy. Severance used a huge 25-point second quarter to build their lead and then a strong defensive effort to take the win home. Brush will now look for another upset to get into the State Championship.
I am going with Brush over Severance. This is going to be a defensive slug fest. Both teams will lean on their defense in this game, and I believe turnovers could be the difference. Severance will have to slight advantage on offense if QB Nolan Hertzke is playing. Defensively both teams bring red hot defenses into this game. Severance has had a top defensive unit all year and Brush defensive unit has also been a top 8 defense. I am going with Brush over Severance. I think Brush keep their slight edge on defense and have an offense playing no turnover football. This will be a great game.
