MileHigh Prep Report Boys Basketball Week 6 Rankings (Class 4A thru 1A)

We move into 2023 and I feel this is when things really start to matter in terms of Districts, Regionals, and State.  I feel the basketball season has 4 parts.  Part 1 is before Christmas, Part 2 is after Christmas/League Play, Part 3 is the District Tournament/Regionals, and Part 4 is the State Tournament.  Also, this week look for an article by Kerry Sherman on 1A Boys and Girls basketball.

Class 4A

Notes: A few changes to the top 10 this week.  Pueblo Central falls out of the rankings.  Lutheran moves into the top 10 at #6 after picking up key wins over Severance and University.  Severance falls to #9.

Notes: A small shake up inside the top 10 this week.  Prospect Ridge lost by two to Brush and fall to #6.  Salida moves back into the #2 spot.  Manual also lost to Brush and fall out of the top 10.  Brush moves into the top 10 for the first time at #10.  They get the nod due to their big wins and their 4 losses are to either top 3A teams or 4A/5A teams.

Notes: No new teams added to the top 10 this week.  We do have a shake up at #5.  Simla moves into the #6 spot after an impressive win over McClave.  Byers also picked up a huge win over Wiggins.  Both move up in the rankings this week.

Notes:  We have movement in Class 1A and a new #1 team.  McClave fell to 2A Simla and fall out of the #1 spot.  Belleview Christian moves into the #1 spot.  McClave falls to #3.  Briggsdale also picked up a nice win over Stratton and jumps to #6.  We also add a new team to the rankings with Granada losing back-to-back games, they are still battling the injury bug.  Wiley moves into the top 10 after defeating Springfield by 10+ points.
