8-Man Football Playoff Predictions Quarterfinals and Full Bracket
First, this is just my opinion. I would love to hear or see your thoughts on how the 6-man bracket turns out. Second, Good Luck to all teams! I do not cheer against any teams. We will have a full breakdown of the games posted tomorrow by Kerry Sherman!!!
8-Man Playoff Predictions Quarterfinals Only
#1 Haxtun over #8 Sanford
One of the more physical games in 8-Man this week will be Haxtun vs Sanford. Both teams will look to establish the run and build off the play action. Sanford has played a tough schedule against two other top 3 playoff seeds, but they will have to have their best game up front. Haxtun size and speed across the board will be tough to handle. Haxtun defensively is one of the best teams in the state and will be tested by the option attack of Sanford. Both teams also have played in big games so expect a tough early battle in this matchup. I have to give the edge to Haxtun with their offensive line.
#4 Simla over #12 Holly (2nd Best Game)
This will be a fantastic matchup. Holly stunned Akron late coming from behind to beat Akron for the second straight time. Holly now has to refocus and will need their offense to once again click this week. Holly defensively will be tested by a balanced offensive attack. Simla cruised to their win last week, but this week will be tested by a red-hot Holly offense. Simla offensively must keep the foot on the gas. This is another great matchup and expect some big plays in this game.
#2 Dove Creek over #10 Merino
The Mountain League vs the Plains League once again in this matchup. For the past few years, we have seen are fair share of Mountain League vs Plains league and these matchup never disappoint. Expect this to be a very physical football game. This game will be won or lost in the trenches.
#3 Mancos over #6 Lyons (Best Game)
My pick for the best game in the 8-Man ranks. Mancos vs Lyons features two very good offensive and defensive teams. Mancos was expected to be here this season and have great senior leadership. Mancos offensively will be tested this week, but the main conversation will be defensive matchups. Lyons at the beginning of the year was not expected to be this good. Lyons will be looking to shock everyone and prove they are a top team. I have a feeling this could be a high scoring game. I am going with Mancos because of their experience in big time games.
