Week 3 Wrestling Update by Carlos Valencia

Week 2 is in the books.  The past weekend had a very good turnout for the smaller schools. There are many teams wrestling very well and it’s showing with team titles at tournaments. This weekend there is going to be some good wrestling going on. Very competitive tournaments in The Warrior Classic held by Grand Junction Central and The Jimmy John’s Northern Colorado Christmas Tournament. Also, some schools will be heading to The Reno Tournament of Champions.

The following teams had good turn outs this past weekend:

The Limon Badger Tournament was won by Trinidad.  Trinidad had 6 placers and 1 champion. Second was University with 5 placers and 1 champion. 3rd was Center with 6 placers and 1 champion.

The Panther Invitational held in Delta saw Meeker winning the team title with 9 placers and 4 Champions. 2nd was Moffat County with 8 placers and 2 Champions. 3rd was Montrose with 8 placers and 2 Champions.

At the Soroco tournament North Fork won the tournament with 10 placers and 4 Champions. 2nd was Hayden with 9 placers and 2 Champions. 3rd was Eagle Valley with 5 placers and 1 Champion.
