Class 1A Boys State Tournament Predictions

We are a few days from the State Tournament kicking off.  I have decided to deem Tuesday as Prediction Tuesday.  I will give my predictions for all 3 Classes boys and girls.  Tomorrow we will have something special for all 3 classes boys and girls. 

Remember I am not cheering against any teams! Good Luck to all 8 teams competing for a State Championship!

Class 1A Boys Regional Prediction Review

Class 1A boys also avoided the big upsets to reach the Elite 8.  Plenty of upsets did happen in the 1^st round of regionals but no double-digit teams advanced.  Only one upsets happened as well according to seeds with #9 Cheyenne Wells over #8 Sierra Grande.  I picked all 8 State Qualifiers correct in Class 1A.

Elite 8 Predictions

#1 Belleview Christian over #9 Cheyenne Wells

Belleview Christian was tested by Wiley in the Regional finals only winning by 9 but they did a good job of advancing to the Elite 8.  Belleview Christian, I believe will be tested by Cheyenne Wells in the Elite 8.  I think the size of Belleview Christian will be the difference in this game.

#4 Stratton over #5 Otis

Stratton vs Otis will be round #4.  Stratton is 3-0 against Otis but beating a team a fourth time would be impressive.  I am going with that pick and this is my pick for the second best game of the Elite 8.  This should be a fantastic game.

#2 Denver Jewish Day over #7 Genoa-Hugo

This could be a interesting game.  Looking at each teams game against Flatirons Academy both won by 12 or 14 points and should make for a fun Elite 8 game.  If Genoa-Hugo plays to their strengths I think they can pull the upset.  Denver Jewish Day will have the size advantage and I think this game comes down to the wire.

#6 Granada over #3 McClave

This was my toughest pick of the Elite 8 round.  Granada since being healthy has been on a tear and I think that continues.  I can easily see McClave winning this game and if they do just swap them with Granada in my next round picks.  Honestly this is a travesty they are playing at 10:15am game and not the 8:30pm game or in the Final 4.
