Class 1A Football Playoff Predictions First Round and Full Bracket
First, this is just my opinion. I would love to hear or see your thoughts on how the 1A bracket turns out. Second, Good Luck to all teams! I do not cheer against any teams. A Full Preview of all matchups will be posted later this week.

Class 1A Playoff Predictions First Round Only
Before we start our predictions, I believe this is the most wide-open Class 1A has been. I think multiple teams can win a state championship, and I expect this to be very competitive state playoffs.
#1 Meeker over #16 Dayspring Christian
Meeker is looking to show why they have been considered by many a top team in Class 1A. Meeker style of offense is tough for many teams to stop and defensively they fly around defensively. Dayspring Christian had a very successful season moving up to 11-man Football. They will look to take their shot at the #1 team.
#8 Monte Vista over #9 Flatirons Academy
One of the better matchups in Class 1A (I may say that a lot this article). Two teams that run different styles of offense but both look to run the ball in different styles. Monte Vista faced 5 playoff teams this year with Flatirons Academy facing 4 playoff teams. Both teams are battle tested but Flatirons Academy takes their longest road trip of the season.
#4 Burlington over #13 Platte Canyon
This could be the quickest game of the first round as both teams run the ball most of the time. Burlington did not attempt a pass against CSCS and Platte Canyon ran a double wing and only passed when they must. Control the line of scrimmage and that is who wins this game.
#5 Centauri over #12 Yuma
Another great matchup in the first round. Centauri could be playing their best football at the end of the season. They played well against Rye and Monte Vista. Centauri looks for big plays but also plays extremely tough on defense. Yuma also is playing their best football, and they have not lost since mid-September. Yuma offensive attack leans heavily on their QB to make big plays.
#2 Denver Christian over #15 Cedaredge
Denver Christian single wing offense has been the difference all season. They attack most defense with movement and physical play up front. Denver Christian can also hit a few passes, but they rely heavily on their rushing attack. Cedaredge is a bit different. They look for their QB to do a lot. Offensively they will look for him to break out but Cedaredge must be able to stop the run or could have a long day on defense.
#7 Platte Valley over #10 C.S Christian
I will say it again, another great matchup. I picked this game and one other as my Game of the Week in Class 1A and I am looking forward to this matchup. Platte Valley is balanced in their offensive attack; they like to spread teams out from under center or in gun and can run the ball effectively. C.S Christian is a spread team and have arguably one of the best QBs in 1A Football. C.S Christian defensively can fly around and same with Platte Valley. This is a very even matchup and physical play will be the difference.
#3 North Fork over #14 Rye
Another fantastic matchup here, and honestly if a big upset (top 4 seed getting beat) happened I could see it here. This is not a normal #3 vs #14 matchup. Rye has size, a good RB, plus a QB who can sling the ball around. Keeping mistakes at a minimum will be key for them. North Fork has proven they can play physically against most teams but will have to bring it against Rye. North Fork will be tested by the size of Rye but look for North Forks defense to fly around. I do think this will be a very close game remember Rye only lost to Limon (by 14), CSCS (by 7), and Monte Vista (by 5).
#11 Limon over #6 Wiggins
Once again, a great matchup! Limon defeated Wiggins early in the season (8/21) and things have changed since that matchup. This was by far one of the harder picks I had to make and my other game of the Week in Class 1A. Limon started the year on fire winning 6-straight games before dropping back-to-back games to CSCS and Burlington. Limon though cannot be discounted, especially in the playoffs. Limon must get their offensive attack rolling this week. Wiggins was tested in back-to-back weeks by DCA and Highland but were able to snag the wins. Wiggins has leaned heavily on their rushing attack and will look for their offensive line to dominate at the point of attack. I do not expect this to be a 34 to 0 game this time and expect only a one score difference.
