Class 2A Regional Volleyball Predictions
Here are my Predictions on who is going to win the 12 regionals taking place this weekend. I will give a quick breakdown of why I am picking each team to win. Full Preview of the Class 2A Regional will be posted tomorrow.

Region 1
Winner: Wiggins
Wiggins got a solid draw as the #1 overall seed. The biggest wildcard has to be Ascent Classical Northern. I do think Wiggins cruises to the State Tournament
Region 2
Winner: Merino
Merino did not get the easiest of draws as the #2 seed getting solid opponents in Heritage Christian & Limon. Merino looks to make it to the state tournament after moving up from Class 1A.
Region 3
Winner: Vail Christian
Vail Christian looks to be a top contender in Class 2A. Vail Christian took Aspen 5 and have key wins over other top opponents in Class 2A. Buena Vista and Soroco both should test Vail Christian.
Region 4
Winner: Centauri
Centauri first season in Class 2A has been successful and they look to challenge for the State Title. Centauri will be tested by Cedaredge and Hoehne but look for the Falcons to advance to the State Tournament.
Region 5
Winner: Evangel Christian
Evangel Christian did not get an easy draw at all in their region. SkyView Academy & Las Animas both competed against top teams all year and Las Animas is actually a league champion. Look for ECA to have to work to get to the state tournament.
Region 6
Winner: Lyons
Lyons once again looks to be a top team in Class 2A. Lyons did end the year with some huge wins over Merino, Heritage Christian, DCA, and Flatirons Academy. Both Byers and Sanford will challenge Lyons and I look for Byers to possibly push Lyons to more than 3 sets.
Region 7
Winner: Dolores
Dolores has been a top 5 teams in the MHPR Poll all year and look to make a run to the state tournament yet again. Dolores will be challenged by North Fork and Front Range Christian both finished in the top half of their league plus have a few key wins. I believe Dolores experience will make a difference
Region 8
Winner: Akron
I believe this will be one of the tougher Regionals in Class 2A and honestly from region 8 to region 12 should all be very competitive. Platte Canyon won their league and DCA played tough against the top teams in their league. Akron ended the year strong with a key win over Sedgwick County. Akron looks to push for State after moving back into Class 2A.
Region 9
Winner: Yuma
Another great region. Yuma ended the year on a strong note, picking up key win after key win and look to be playing their best volleyball. I do think Meeker can pull the upset at Regionals and look for that match to come down to 5 sets. Should be a fun region.
Region 10
Winner: Ignacio
All three teams in region 10 should be competitive. St. Mary’s played in a 2A/3A league (Tri-Peaks) and same with Highland (Patriot). Both teams will be up to challenge the host. Ignacio did not play the toughest schedule in Class 2A playing in the 1A/2A San Juan and really their only big challenge was Dolores. Ignacio will have to shake off the loss to end the year and be ready to play against team who can challenge them.
Region 11
Winner: Holyoke
Holyoke has been around the top 10 teams all year and has plenty of key wins in the process. Holyoke got a tough draw getting Flatirons Academy and Burlington. I think Flatirons Academy played a tough schedule that should have them ready to challenge for the regional crown.
Region 12
Winner: Sedgwick County
This region also has three teams who can all beat each other. Vanguard played a tough 2A/3A schedule (Tri-Peaks) and Del Norte won the Southern Peaks League. I think both teams can challenge Sedgwick County, who has a few interesting losses on their schedule. Del Norte will have to play up to potential and honestly look for this region to be a good one.
